Announcing the First EVER! "Metal Bomb 2008"

Metal Bomb 2008 is like a money bomb except it promotes the Gold Standard!

On Thursday March 20 Donors will Overnight Bomb Physical Gold and Silver .999 - .997 Rounds and/or Bars to the Ron Paul HQ. Donors may also Overnight Bomb Warehouse certificates (which is recommended for added security).

The promoters of this Bomb is working with several parcel carriers to work out a special shipping rate for the one day.

Gold and Silver will continue to increase in value over the next nine months. Because of this increased value the campaign will have many options available to them.

1. After allowing the value to grow use as needed to purchase campaign related items. Since they only need to report the initial value of the donation (attach a receipt if you can so they use that value not the market value on they day they receive it.) the actual amount that can be spent will be much higher.

2. Save it and once the campaign has ended return it to the contributors as stated in FEC rules. Now if the metal grows in value and enough is donated more people will get more back possibly equal to your total donations.

A website will be up soon to handle the pledges for this Metal Bomb. Please post your thoughts below so we can make changes as necessary.

Any metal will work I guess. However I am not sure they have a place to put all that. I can check if you seriously want to donate it.

I was mainly focusing on metals where the value is certain to increase and provide extra value to the campaign.

the price of aircraft quality metal has followed gold. I haven't looked at any real data, but I purchase materials daily and they have quadrupalled or better in the past few years.
Lol. i am saveing any inconel scrap i can.
imagine brass or inconel or even allum coins:D

there has been a huge increase in metal theft in my area in the past year+.They steal it from unground cables along freeways such as I5 in seattle area. The fbi has staked out metal recyclers paying cash.
My company alone has spent 60k+ in the last 2 years on extra security measures.
Including employee awareness.

I am not a fan. Too complicated. Just promote the guy who will get hard assets as competing currencies to be competing currencies. We have to play the game to beat it, meaning donate federal reserve notes to be able to use gold. That makes more sense in a twisted way.

FYI, headquarters is on the second floor of an old building (no elevator). I'm sure the dry cleaners below them wouldn't mind if a ton of gold fell through the ceiling :D

I sent an email to the ronpaul2008 site about mailing them gold in regards to whether they would/could accept it. Never got an answer. Wonder if it's any problem?

This puts an extra burden on the campaign which is inappropriate. Imagine if everyone sent $100 worth of silver to the campaign. That's a lot of silver. HQ would have to buy a larger safe, hire 24/7 security, perhaps take out a large safety deposit box.

Think about it.

pacelli - The burden is nominal verses the actual value of what everyone would get out of it especially the campaign.

Free market decides. Good luck with it.

How so? You download and print a form and mail in your metal with the form.

Can't be any more simple.

make sure to use US Mint rounds because they are legal tender!

The campaign can claim them as $1 for the silver rounds (spot price ~$17..)

this is such a weird and impractical idea.

I pity the campaign staffer who wakes up one morning, drives to work and finds 197 pounds of scrap metal on his desk.
