There are two groups working on commercials hopefully to
air during the CNN (Democratic) debate in Texas on February 21 - a very cool idea !

The American Liberty Coalition - PAC
http://www.alcpac.com/index.html

and

Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain
http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/cin_iwanttohelp.htm

The ALC political action committee has the production done and simply needs to purchase airtime,
according to RP activist Valerie M. of southern California (Ames, Iowa meetup #262)

I'm a little confused about who to donate to for this effort. ALC, Vietnam vets, or Operationbroadcastfreedom

I hope the ALC release the video if they have it sewn up, it would help with their efforts to raise funds for showing it on the TV if it's good stuff.

They are all good causes of course -
if you had a choice the ALC has run ads in other states already -

fyi, the CNN Democratic Debate is at the University of Texas on Thursday night -
and maybe some students on our side could get in.

I wish the official campaign would get airtime on CNN for this -
such presidential has-beens like Mitt and Rudy had got to air ads during previous GOP debates, before they went bye-bye.

Against mccain efforts need to donate to vietnam vets

For paul ads need to donate to www.alcpac.com.

The reference to operationbroadcastfreedom is only to give a reference to know this effort is legit.

I recently read a post elsewhere (sorry forgot where) that indicated an overheard conversation by some campaign people in a McCain campaign office. It referred to four different people who said McCain might consider Hillary Clinton as a running mate if she does not get the Dem nomination.

Has anyone heard anything else like this?

The CNN UT debate on 21st is between the democrats

The MSNBC houston debate on the 28th is between the republicans.

Just want to check that everyone understands this.

Uh. no I haven't.

On CNN/Larry King Live last night, the pundits tossed around Condi Rice as veep if McLame is running against Obama though.

Dem convention takes place first in August in Denver and so is before the GOP in the first week of September -
so Republicans will know who they are up against - maybe vs. Obama-Edwards ?.

I just made a donation to Vietnam Veterans....they're the ones who did a lot to prevent McCain from getting the Republican nomination back in 2000.

From an email:

--------------------

" When McCain returned to the United States in 1973 after more than five years as a prisoner of war, he found his wife was a different person.

Carol McCain, once a model, had been badly injured in a car wreck in 1969.

The accident "left her 4 inches shorter and on crutches, and she gained a good deal of weight."

Despite her injures, she had refused to allow her POW husband to be notified about her condition,
fearing that such news would not be good for him while he was being held prisoner.

But, just a couple years later, McCain,
while pondering a future in politics, met Cindy Hensley, an attractive 25-year-old woman from a very wealthy politically-connected Arizona family.

While still married to Carol, McCain began an adulterous relationship with Cindy.
He married Cindy in May 1980 -- just a month after dumping his crippled wife and securing a divorce."

--------------------

I didn't know this.

I'm sure it's not generally known. That's the question that should be put to him publicly:

Did you desert your wife when she became crippled and overweight after a car accident? Is this how you treated your family?

And the people that endorse his candidacy, are they aware that this is the conduct they endorse?

I don't think that would really happen, but what a mind warp that would be. Then watch Obama snatch Ron Paul for his VP to complete the hell being frozen over scenario.

Why not air these commercials during the MSNBC debate with Doctor Paul, on the 28th?

Why would democrats give a care re: McFly?

what do you mean aratus.

I hear that the only spots to buy were in Houston and Austin...

Did you see one of them?

for future states we need to spread the word and get them money earlier so they are pressed out of the market by the candidates.

PA, NC, OR, etc all could be impacted if we help this group.

I spoke with their people and i hear they still have 2 more ads coming out.

The more air time they get in the states the better
