The Comptroller General turned in his resignation today as it seems he could deal with how badly our government has been run and I dont blame him. Hes been talking for many years about how we cant afford to keep our government running the way we have been spending like mad.

Bush gets to pick the guy to replace him? I assume he will be nominating a Frank Luntz type character.

From the article...

Walker's resignation takes effect March 12. He will lead the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, a new think tank whose mission, according to its Web site is "to enhance public understanding of the nature and urgency of selected key sustainability challenges that threaten America's future," including "unsustainable" growth in entitlement spending, and energy consumption.

From wikipedia...

Peter G. Peterson was Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations until retiring on June 30, 2007, after being named chairman emeritus. He is the Senior Chairman of the private equity firm, the Blackstone Group. In 2007, he was ranked 165th on Forbes 400 Richest Americans with a net worth of $2.5 Billion.

It sounds to me like they decided to offer this guy a much higher paying job to effectively shut him up.
