I think Rove is seeing '08 as a GOP defeat and is getting out while he can.

he'll use this as his new excuse when he is called in to testify...

"as a private citizen it is not within permissable bounds nor legal precendent, as far as i am aware, for me to testify-to give testimony that is-on the public record concerning sensitive issues of national security."

I don't think so. He is the person who organized the vote caging. If anything before you go to the polls the dems will be a million votes behind. Maybe he is getting out because the vote caging investigation is getting close to nabbing him.

Glad to see him leave, but I wonder what he is going to mess up next.

He is probably already working on Romneys or Ghoulianis campaign. He would have to leave if that was the case.
