Bush can't get his war machine going at home, so he is trying to get isreal to start it. Does anyone else see that Bush has created the most unrest this world has ever seen?

If by war they mean more suicide bombers and rockets that land on the desert, well that has been going on for a while.

Israel is no match for any country in that area. Even the US would have a lot of trouble knocking down the Israeli fire power. This is just propaganda.

I think by war it means something similar to the 2006 Lebanon war, a conflict that left over 1,000 Lebanese and 44 Israelis dead in the span of 33 days. So it would be a step up from suicide bombers and rockets.

Are you fuckin' kidding me? So the Cold War, World War II, World War I, the Napoleonic Wars, the Seven Year's War were not as bad as what's going on right now?

I think you need to pop open a history book and start reading.

You're joking, right?

We could destroy Israel in a day. Small country with population highly centralized. And how could they retaliate? Are you saying they could send fleets over to destroy a country the size of the USA?

Israel used to be a country with tough people and soldiers. But I think the recent images of Israeli soldiers getting massages in the field, coupled with the fact that they couldn't root out the Lebanese resistance and that the typical Israeli is becoming a soft spoiled brat, all of this suggests a paper tiger. But they have nukes, but that's about it. That country will collapse in maybe 25 years.

I don't understand why Palestinians fight the Israelis through open-war. If Palestinains simply migrated to Jewish parts of Israel, they would overpopulate all of it in years.

Israel has air superiority. They have the best air force in the world. They have thousands modified F16s and lots of apache helicopters and lots of missiles. They have nuclear submarines patrolling the oceans armed with nuclear weapons. They have a good navy too.
Don’t believe what you see on TV.

Although Israel can be taken down easily, they can potentially put up a decent fight with air force.

Israel has a better trained, more skilled and more experienced Air Force than the US does.

And the idea that Hezbollah can wage any kind of war against Israel is laughable.

Israel likes to use Hezbollah as an excuse to kill and displace more Palestinians.

Whether or not this is true, and I don't believe it is, it is fully funded by the U.S.

Do some more research on the "wars" mentioned. Preemptive strikes against planes on the ground doesn't mean "air superiority". Israel has a great propaganda machine.

How about attacking a neutral US naval vessel - ironically named Liberty?

And yet we continued to support them anyway. Actually really began to support them after the Liberty.

Now Israel is folding Syria into the mix, just to make sure they are a legitimate target when the whole thing begins.

People don't like being spied upon, paticularily during a shooting war, which was when the Liberty got hit.

That particular class of spy ships of which the Liberty was one, were particularily ill-fated. The Pueblo, a sister ship of the Liberty was attacked and seized by the North Koreans. Serving on those spy boats was very hazardous duty.

Funny how Israel tries to link every muslim/arab in the world with any attacks anywhere in the world.

This is a typical Israeli tactic to try and scare Americans and line up the US sheeple with Israeli interests. Watch Netanyahu do this next time he's on US news. It's as reflexive as Ghouliani saying 9/11.

Israel blamed Mughniyeh for the 1992 bombing of its embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which killed 29 people. Argentina linked him to the 1994 bombing of a Buenos Aires Jewish center that killed 85 people.

He was also linked to bombings that killed hundreds of U.S. military personnel in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

Most of the "news" from the ME is so manipulated who knows what's really going on.

Does Iran want Hez to attack Israel or are the Israelis trying to start something for themselves or as a proxy for the US?

I just find it interesting that Israel blames violence to come on this comment
"a vicious cycle of violence"
rather than taking responsibility for it themselves, at least in part

I don't understand why Palestinians fight the Israelis through open-war. If Palestinains simply migrated to Jewish parts of Israel, they would overpopulate all of it in years.

The majority of Palestinians live in UN refugee camps, and various towns in 2 separate, isolated areas for the most part. The West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.

They are not even free to move around in these areas... let alone travel freely in Israel.

Ironically, they are living in worse conditions than the Jewish Ghettos of Germany.

It is precisely because the Palestinian population is growing at such a rapid rate that Israel continues to seize more and more Palestinian land, build more Jewish settlements within Palestinian territory, and expel, imprison, and murder Palestinians on a daily basis.

This is a pretty good introduction to the nature of the conflict:
