The Best Thing That Could Happen To Us…

With the current ideologue divide in the republican party and the eminent civil war amongst the democrats, the ‘people’ might actually once again have a say in governmental affairs. As Hannity and Limbaugh have distinctly pointed out the reason the conservative base has a problem with McCain is not that they “simply don’t like him,” but rather have serious issues with his platform. Specifically his stance with Kennedy and Feingold on Immigration and Free Speech respectively. Several big name Republican officials and pundits have vowed to ‘not vote for McCain’ and that they ‘would rather have Hillary’.
Then you have the supposed conservative base’s guy: Huckabee. He represents at least a somewhat more accurate picture of what a true conservative should be, enough so that he has been bringing in comparable numbers to McCain since Romney’s and Giuliani’s suspension of their candidacies. There is no doubt that when it’s crunch time the republican base will unify under the ‘anyone but a democrat’ banner but as of right now there are two very distinct camps within the republican party.
The other side of the spectrum is far more volatile. While the right has a true ideologue debate going on the democrats are seemingly on the verge of a civil war: Charisma & Personality v. Establishment candidate. They are almost identical on all major policy issues: furthering the US debt, continuing our world empire, larger government and the loss of basic civil liberties. The left has really bamboozled their constituents. Obama is not a candidate of change, as was just mentioned he is for more government in the area of health, more government control on the economy, raising taxes to pay for more government spending, etc. Hillary on the other hand was suppose to be experienced and vetted, nothing could be farther from the truth. She slept with the president for a while and is only in her second term as junior senator from New York. I don’t really see how sleeping with the president could possibly give you experience into the world of politics. If that were the case America should have elected Marylin Monroe in the latter portion of the 60s. The only thing she has left to hold for experience is almost the identical amount of time on the senate as her competitor Obama.
With the upcoming Democratic National Convention looming, the hostilities might very well boil over. Popular vote going to Obama, state delegate vote going to Obama, Super-Delegate vote going to Hillary and the possibility of Michigan and Florida’s vote counting. One could only imagine the fallout of unelected Democratic party members taking the vote away from the people in favor of someone who has ‘paid their dues’.
There hasn’t been a more ripe time in recent history for the Paulite-Republican platform. With the ‘mainstream republican base’ at odds with itself; it lends a very fertile ground for our growing revolution to take place. Once the platform’s support is shown through a national march it will be hard to downplay the third republican ideologue base within the party. Once that becomes an accredited fact with the masses, it will be much easier convincing others that this is not only a viable platform but a wise and constitutional one. With the looming implosion over race v gender and ‘new faces’ v establishment candidate in the Democratic party, it would surely lead to a less unified opposition to that of limited government. The longterm in-fighting and personal grudges that would ensue from this debacle would be around for the next several decades. With a unified Paulite-platform there would be no stopping the movement.
