If you live in ANY state that has not yet elected delegates to the national convention...

...this is crazy... (are you ready?)...

Become a McCain delegate.

Wait, wait! Hear me out.

Vote for Ron Paul in your primary (there are only primaries left, no caucuses). Convince all the Romney, Huckabee and Thompson supporters you can find to do the same. Go for all the McCain supporters you can get with this (http://thereaganwing.wordpress.com/2008/02/02/part-5-one-man-two-first-names-ron-paul-the-stone-rejected/). Every conservative needs to be shown by us that the Republicans have abandoned conservatism.

But that's just the first step.

Find out how you can be a delegate, find out all the rules you can, and then get several Ron Paul supporters in every district in your state that will elect delegates to RUN AS MCCAIN DELEGATES. Make the most compelling case for the Party and unity and defeating Democrats that you can. Try to know every person who is representing your state at the national convention, and know they're a Ron Paul supporter.

Make it all the way to the national convention - and VOTE FOR RON PAUL IN THE FIRST ROUND.

There it is. We need 1191 of us. We need to know who is who (at least in each state) and we need to have a unified strategy. Also, if you're pledged to someone else and you vote for Paul, be prepared to never play in Republican politics again (unless we take over the state parties, that is).

Remember: "Lives and livelihoods are on the line."

Godspeed.

umm, if we are bound to McCain and he gets 51% of the first vote the convention is over and he is the nominee. We need to run for delegates as Ron Paul and let the people know who thier choices are why Ron Paul is the best and that we are representing him.

By the way, I think we should be doing everything possible to prevent the need for us to do this (it would cause some blowback), but we must keep this (nuclear) option open and be prepared to use it if McCain becomes the clear winner.

That said, any delegate, including pledged delegates, can vote their conscience AT ANY TIME. Although, to do so could have personal repercussions with your relationship with the part, i.e. ostracization.

If Ron Paul supporters are serving as "stealth" delegates, this is our round-one checkmate move. To do this is serious business, but we must be prepared for this and have the nerve to pull it off if we have no other options for victory left.

(Mods, you should probably delete the thread after a couple hundred views)

bump because, while I know there is still a chance to avert the need for this approach ("Our last chance to WIN" being a bit of hyperbole), we need to lay the groundwork for this and have everything set for our first-round check-mate if it comes to it.

So don't cover your ears. (Neither should you shout this from mountaintops...)
