Say it ain't so.

How many delegates did he have? About 240?

I can't see a majority of them going for McCain, I just can't.

Why is this a surprise to anyone? He practically announced his endorsement during his CPAC speech when he "suspended" his campaign.

I just heard about this on local talk-radio (Nashville).

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't think Mitten endorsing McAmnesty automatically gives Mittens delegates to him and I SERIOUSLY doubt that most of Mitten's delegates will jump on the McPain bandwagon. We need to be going after those delegates YESTERDAY.

He'll have to release them or hold them until the convention hopefully he releases them.

Not a surprise at all. I just think a lot of folks were hoping he wouldn't actually make it official.

Also, does this mean he's officially dropping out instead of just suspending?

McCain will lose to Obama anyway, it doesn't matter who the so called "Republican" party choses.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Mitt Romney, John McCain's former chief rival for the Republican presidential nomination, will endorse the Arizona senator, officials familiar with the decision said Thursday.

Romney will make the endorsement later Thursday at his campaign headquarters in Boston and will release his 280 delegates and ask them to support McCain, said officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid pre-empting the announcement.

The former Massachusetts governor dropped out of the race last week after it became apparent that toppling McCain would be near impossible given his lead in the hunt for convention delegates.

Romney made his decision on Thursday, one official said, in hopes of helping McCain get the delegates he needs to secure the Republican Party nod and unite the GOP while Democrats continue to battle for their own nomination.

The endorsement came together quickly.

Romney's campaign notified McCain's camp after Romney made the decision, and McCain's campaign adjusted its campaign schedule to fly to Boston to accept the endorsement because the senator was campaigning in nearby Rhode Island.

Who do you think got to him?? Was he promised the next presidency if he dropped out of this one when he did?? They figured out the dangers of a brokered convention and got to Romney..

Was it just me? I heard his CPAC speech and he was clear that he wanted to make sure the war continued and could not be part of giving the election to anyone who's agenda had Peace as any part of it.

That would be a McCain endorsement in my eyes.

Who did you think he was going to endorse?

Back Room Politics at the CPAC:

The Shadow "Your gonna take a dive, Mitt, ya understand?
Mitt " But I could win this thing! Didn't you see Super Tuesday results?"
The Shadow "Your takin a dive, Mitt and dats the way it is, see?"
Mitt " Well....Oooook, I guess"
The Shadow " Now here's what your gonna do. Take this case, see? It's got your 50 mill in it along with another 10 mill for playin the game. You're gonna go out there and tell your supporters that this ain't yer year, ya understand. This is a good business deal Mitt and your gonna take it."

Mitt ".....and I know alot of you have given your best efforts for this campaign but I can't be a part of....!"

The neo-cons are rallying around one another. Bring down Mccain, bring down 95% of the neo-cons.

Just because he endorses McCain, doesn't mean his delegates will vote for McCain. If anything, it just shows his delegates that he isn't a real conservative.

Exactly. Romney can ASK his delegates to support McCain all he wants to, but they don't HAVE to vote for McCain.

So much can happen between now and September. Just take the past week or two as an example. :)

This just reinforces the reports that Romney is a flip-flopping piece of trash. After making all of that noise at the debates, bickering with McCain incessantly, he endorses him?

I think this will further discredit Romney & hence, McCain. How could Romney supporters ever go to the McCain camp now!

kathy88
02-14-2008, 01:19 PM
So I guess the next logical step is to go after the delegates. Who are they, where are they and what can I do to help?

Romney's delegate count:

Alabama: 3 bound
California: 12 bound
Illinois: 2 bound
New Hampshire: 4 bound
Tennessee: 8 bound
Arkansas: 1 bound
Massachusetts: 22 bound, 3 unbound
Michigan: 20 bound
Utah: 36 bound
Alaska: 12 unbound
Iowa: 10 unbound
Maine: 10 unbound
Montana: 25 bound
Nevada: 17 unbound
North Dakota: 8 bound
Wyoming: 8 unbound

Hopefully we have enough supporters as precinct delegates in these states to take the open state delegate spots.

As an LDS member, this disgusts me and there is no way, NO WAY to turn this around and make it right. To those who follow this person because of his so called faith need to take a serious look at these tactics and see that he cannot be the person he says he is.
Mitt is not an ethical or moral person.

So Romney shells out $40 Million of his own money (and his kids' inheritance) for a presidential campaign where in the end he simply gives McCain a political blow job. I don't know how Romney's wife can stand being married to such a pussy.

Mitt's people are not happy about McCain. His forum is really down on him for backing McCain.

We need to try and get his delegates and voters on our side.

I know that Ron would never back anyone that did not agree with his views of the constitution...even if they guaranteed him the VP slot.
