Go to front page of Yahoo!

They have a video from Foxnews explaining the Great Seal yet it's all obfuscation and don't at all discuss the Masonic symbolism on the pyramid side.

It was a huge obfuscation that didnt even address the more serious stuff about the Great Seal!

Unbelievable!

Do you own research! It was a good piece. Just as hippies were conformists so too many on here are sheeple and don't even know it. :) Now that is irony.

I have.

Try reading Founding Fathers, Secret Societies - Freemason, Illuminati, Rosicrucians, and the Decoding of the Great Seal by Robert Hieronimus.

Both sides of the seal are full of Masonic symbols. :cool:

I thought "Seclorum" meant "Ages."

Novus (nom., sing.) + Ordo (nom.?, sing.) + Seclorum (gen. pl.) = New Order of the Ages

Where are you getting the translation "world" from?

Perhaps my Latin is forgetting something.

...if "secular" comes from the same word...

Main Entry: 1sec·u·lar
Pronunciation: \ˈse-kyə-lər\
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French seculer, from Late Latin saecularis, from saeculum the present world, from Latin, generation, age, century, world;

But it apparently comes from Vergil's work, which was not "Late Latin." I just checked at Wikipedia, where it said that it came to mean "wordly" in Later Christian texts, but that the original phrase meant "of the ages."

I actually remember going over this a long time ago in a college Latin course, where someone asked what the phrase on the dollar bill meant, and the teacher explained it as "New Order of the Ages."

BUT: I'm not sure how this really matters if the CONCEPT of the phrase is the same either way.

Hippies, conformists? Humm... I guess anybody can be a conformist if they go along with some crowd. We are all conformists in that we endourse Ron Paul.

Hippies were nonconformists when it came to the establishment!
They were conformists when it came to being like each other.

Also, it's not a matter of being "conformist" or "nonconformist" as if one is better than the other. The application of correct reasoning to a situation should be all that is required. Dissent or assent to a situation, position, or whatever results. Though, use of reason in this age probably is in itself "nonconformity."

i never noticed the little Owl!!!!!!

I remember in grade school someone pointing the owl out to me. I always thought it was just silly and a form of artistic license to whoever created the dollar.

Then, I began to connect the dots, and now that owl just pisses me off.

Does anyone else think:

1) the "Owl" idol (or whatever it is) is possibly one of the cheesiest looking set-ups of any ritual (at least that I'm aware of);
which leads to,
2) this whole "ritual" they have going on stinks of something like what a group of Magic-card/Dungeons and Dragons obsessees would come up with?

(Just a comment on the sheer aesthetics of the thing.)
