View Full Version : Omaha World-Herald Ads for RP

I was thinking it might be good to start running some ads in the World-Herald promoting Dr. P. Apparently this is what the Ron Paul meetup group did in Jefferson County, Iowa, which is the only county Dr. P won in Iowa. Click on republicans in the left hand column of this link for a visual:

So, I found a nice looking ad and started a chip-in page for donations. If you'd like to see Dr. P's ad in upcoming editions of the World-Herald, please contribute here:

I'll be posting here to let people know when ads are going to be running. You should be able to see them on Omaha.com when they run, in addition to in the actual paper. Thanks, and if anyone has any ideas for other ads, please let me know. I got this one from JarofClay, who was nice enough to alter it for Omaha. It originally ran in Montana. You can view it here:

The only difference will be that the bottom will obviously say "Paid by Omaha supporters" and have our meetup number. The cost is $84/in2 per day during the week. So a 3x3" ad would be $756.

Please let me know if you're interested. I'd love for everyone in Omaha to open up the paper and see Dr. P and why to vote for him.

I may be interested, but I do have concerns. Where does the money go if we fail to reach $1,000? I don't really want to see myself as the only donator on there. What if I donate $100 and only ... $300 is raised? Who gets my money at that point?

While I wish nothing more than Dr Paul to win and am more than willing to donate, again, to help him do so ... I don't want my hard earned - quite stretched - dollar to just ... goto some account where I will never know what happened to it.

I will definitely be running some ads, regardless of how much or little money is raised. The more cash, the longer the ads will run. I just put $1000 as the goal. Every little bit will go towards running ads, and if you want I can let you know when they will run. You should be able to see them in the online edition at omaha.com, and if not, then I will be happy to mail you a newspaper so you can see the fruits of your donations.
I think newspaper ads are a very effective use of our advertising money, and Nebraska is a great opportunity to make some late noise and show the rest of the country that Dr. Paul is in it for the long haul.
Please let me know if you have any other concerns and I will try my best to address them. Thank you!
