Encourage everyone who is unemployed to apply for unemployment compensation in order to be counted as unemployed, even if they do not qualify. Use the broad reach of our movement to correct the current unemployment numbers to it's true rate. This would send Washington officials in a tizzy if they had to admit to the true unemployment rate.

Not everyone knows the unemployment rate is underestimated due to methodology changes in the way the rate is calculated.

Up until the Clinton administration, a discouraged worker was one who was willing, able and ready to work but had given up looking because there were no jobs to be had. The Clinton administration dismissed to the non-reporting netherworld about five million discouraged workers who had been so categorized for more than a year. As of July 2004, the less-than-a-year discouraged workers total 504,000. Adding in the netherworld takes the unemployment rate up to about 12.5%.

If we use our movement to spread the word to unemployed people to apply for unemployment benefits just so that they can be counted in official unemployment figures, Our leaders would see a big rise in the official unemployment numbers and know who is behind the effort making the official numbers go up and who their messing with, the Ron Paul Movement.

For those folks who consider themselves unemployed in Florida and want to be counted, they can visit this state website and submit a claim.
