are all these people willing to speak or is it a wish list?

so far, it's a wish list... when we pay their fee, it won't matter if they WANT to speak. some of them will be invited guests... if they don't accept, we'll move on, if the costs are too great. not many people will turn down a speaking engagement for 500k likeminded individuals

whether or not you agree with Alex Jones, he's helped us a lot. We've had THOUSANDS of supporters because of him and he's done a lot for the revolution. He's also a paleoconservative like Ron Paul.

he has hurt us just as much as he has helped us if not more

I HATE to say it...

It seems like this voting exercise resulted in McCain and Obama! :(

A lot of the speakers are celebrities whose names are known by a lot of people, but I don't think these speakers are the ones to educate the public the most.

That's why I have a proposition. Say we have the rally on Saturday. Can we have a pre-rally on Friday with maybe 1/3-1/2 of the crowd coming? We can get in more speakers this way. We can handpick speakers (primarily authors) for this day.

Who's going to talk about the Dollar on the OIL standard (the reason for the IRAQ and IRAN wars), the voter fraud, the American Empire, the Corporatocracy, Hugo Chavez, Shock Doctrine, etc, etc etc?

PS, we can also ahve more time for the Ron Paul Congressional / State / Local Candidates http://paulcongress.com

I think having a second day of speaking and music would be fantastic, and I have no doubt that if this rally turns out to be on a Saturday that we'll have plenty of folks there Friday evening. I know that the official campaign is looking into permits, venues, costs, etc. My concern is that the cost of doing a second day or evening even half as big as the main rally will be a bit much. Maybe those interested could allow HQ to plan the main rally while the die-hard grassroots supporters who will be there early can put together something in a smaller venue for the night before, i.e. a hotel ballroom with a couple of bands and 4-5 select speakers. I would bet that the good Doctor will show up. Just a thought.

no, why would anyone want to hear him. Are we trying to turn this into a socialist rally? I don't even agree with dennis speaking, what has he done for this revolution? I think only people that have been a part and/or in our interest of this revolution should speak..

What happened to Peroutka? He came in first on the 5th thread, first round, with 24 votes. I don't see him on either thread this round.

How about George Carlin for some comic relief? He has a good stand-up routine about Neo-Cons.

i do like the idea of selecting speakers, but feel the need to point out that the way people are grouped will greatly affect results.

for example, if poll 1 has 7 people I want, and poll 2 has 3 people I want, 2 people in the first poll lose my vote and 2 people in the second poll get a 'well, i guess this person' vote.

not sure how to fix that given the limitations of a forum poll, but it's not like this is all that final anyway. but it's worth noting
