Yes, but that is before OTHER candidate appearances around the state.

http://www.jsonline.com/candidatetracker/candidatetracker/default.aspx

And state GOP chair finally crawled out from the woodwork and is now putting BIG PUSH on to have everyone back McCain. (He must have received his marching orders from RNC recently, he was very cagey and non-committal before.)

So look for the final number to be lower than 7% -- I would estimate around 4% to 5%. Main reason is that OUR campaign is doing NOTHING -- absolutely NOTHING within the state.

The only efforts here are grassroots. (Kudos to ALCPAC.com for the many billboards, Radio Ads, and to the meetup groups for placing ManOfCommonSense newspaper ads and inserts, and buying and dispersing countless thousands of MoCS flyers as handouts. But we're up against the other candidates making appearances & personal appeals to GOP, and thus garnering ALL of the local media attention as well... most people will assume that RP has dropped from the race and that the signs just represent die-hard supporters who refuse to take them down.

Also, RP's name still being on the ballots will be meaningless, as the ballot list was established way back in early December, so WI ballots (confirmed by someone who has seen the print proofs a week ago) will all have the full "roster" of like all eleven candidates (including Giuliani, Thompson, Tancredo, etc).

Sickening, but true.

The lack of advertising in WI from the GOP in general is non-existant. I see Hitlery and Osama ads all the time, but nothing from the right.

I think Huckabee actually has a good chance here. If we actually had a little more advertising and a little more time prior to primary's, we would have had a chance too. I still run into people every day that ask "who is this Ron Paul guy?". This area is pretty much untapped with exception of the grass roots canvassing.

Months ago Ron Paul support was starting to pickup around here and in the Fox Valley even more. Then the primary's started for the other states, and a lot of momentum was lost.

At least I have someone in my district to vote for this time around.
