Why won't Ron Paul run as a third party candidate?
The Republican Party as treated him like crap.
We have no real choice in either the Democratic or Republican party.
Ron Paul could easily get on the Constitution Party ticket.

I just hate to seem him step aside when there are viable alternative.

Because hes trying to inject these ideas into the republican party.

Because third-party politics don't play in the USA. He could spend billions and get 20% of the vote. Better to spend the effort to get 50 Republican Congressmen and a dozen Senators.

Unfortunetly this is no longer about the Republican Party, they have sold their souls to the Neo-Cons. Screw the Republican party we need to get Ron Paul's ideas into the government as soon as possible.

Because people have spent billions on third party and independent runs and gotten nowhere. If we lose the nomination it'd be pointless to run as anything else. Symbolic? Yes. feasible? No.
IF we don't pull off an upset at the convention our time and efforts would be far better spent getting Ron Paul Republicans and Democrats elected and start the process of taking over the other branches of govt. in preparation for 2012.

Some people woke up during the 2000 election
Some people woke up during 9/11
Some people woke up when we left Al Qaeda to go fight in Iraq
Some people woke up during the 2004 election
Some people are waking up during the 2008 election
Pretty soon there will be far more of us awake than asleep, that's when victory will come easily.

Because the GOP is wasting away and is ripe for takeover and rebranding. That's what we have to do.

I have no problem with strengthening the LP too tho. There are many fronts to this war.

QFT! I just hope America lasts until 2012. :( The grassroots really needs to become a massive voter education campaign post 2008. I don't know if we'll be able to be cohesive. (Some still want censorship of 9/11 for example). Maybe this will become a loose federation of semi autonomous entities. But we all need to get the word out the best way we know how.
