Yeah, Justin.tv reporter is saying heart complications. Sounds like it's under control though?

Carol Paul is a really wonderful woman. The Congressional staff always loved when we knew she was coming--it meant a pot of chili in the crock pot, a fruit basket, cookies, etc., a warm smile and no shortage of love, support and encouragement.

To know Carol is to understand better how Dr. Paul can be so unfailing gracious with his critics and detractors (and, on occasion, ahem, troublesome staffers).

Carol and Ron have been working so hard on this. I hope that she will be ok. They both or in our thoughts. I hope they get rest this next week.

Ron Paul's wife hospitialized in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa — Rep. Ron Paul's wife was hospitalized Saturday morning, the Texas Republican's presidential campaign announced shortly before voting was to begin in the Ames GOP straw poll.

The campaign did not say why Carol Paul was taken to the hospital, but emphasized she is out of danger.

"Carol Paul became ill this morning and was taken to an area hospital," Jesse Benton, a Paul spokesman, stated in an email. "She appears to have stabilized and is awaiting treatment. Dr. Paul is with her and will arrive at the Straw Poll when the situation permits."

Paul is considered a long shot to win the Republican nomination. He joins most of the contenders vying for the GOP nomination in Ames Saturday for the Iowa Republican Party sanctioned straw poll.

She must be OK, because Ron is on Justintv right now.

She was staying at a hotel with several doctors, after all. The Paul family on the road is like a frickin MASH unit.

He just spoke and I thought sounded really down.

I can't believe the heat would have that kind of affect on Mrs. Paul, she is from the hottest part of the world with the ecception of death valley.

First off i didn't think he sounded down. And secondly they said she woke up feeling faint so i think the heat had little or nothing to do with it.

Why must I see conspiracy in everything?

Oh, and Mrs. Paul needs her husband to receive campaign donations more than she needs flowers.

Hotter than South Florida? Gasp.

I was having trouble sleeping tonight as well. I think it's the anxiety of the poll. She was probably nervous about the day after when she went to bed.

The guy on justin.tv said she's doing fine. He said Ron Paul wouldn't leave her until he knew she was ok.

I have a history of heart palpitations too :)

Yes indeed heat ,stress, overtired, some foods & lack of sleep can set them off.

You most certainly can feel light headed or faint - you can faint. Especially if certain types of arrhythmias are present.

She probably needs a few days of rest and to stay out of the heat!

Severe adrenal fatigue gives you all of those symptoms too. :)

Heart palpitations are almost always non-fatal, so I'm sure she will be fine after some rest. Some people get them all the time.
