View Full Version : Who’s in charge; us or HQ?

Since it has been said that Ron will announce the date, it sounds like the campaign might be running the show. If so then we can take a breather and just get the word out and work more on helping folks get there, etc. If however they are only handling some aspects of the march, then we need to know what parts they will leave up to us. If anybody can answer these questions with absolute certainty, please post that info with confirmation here.

HQ will announce a date. We'll have to figure out how to get there.

HQ announces the date but it's up to the grassroots to make it work.

If any of you are still confused about who is supposed to be in charge then you obviously haven't watched this video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6015291679758430958)yet.
Short answer, only you know how to best contribute, so you are as in charge as you can be until your leadership can be better done by someone else. Then you play a supporting role. Until your leadership is once more needed.
Flexibility is paramount.

Ok, sooo... this really isn't a philosophical question. It seemed like it was up to us to put it together initially. Now that Ron is announcing the date, leadership is implied. This raises questions like: Is the campaign planning on securing permits? It would be ridiculous for us to waste our time debating this stuff if HQ is currently securing permits, picking speakers, etc.

If we let HQ take charge, they'll just change the location to Valley Forge at the last minute. :p

So we can stay at the Scanticon?
I hate that place.. Used to have to travel there for business. One of the biggest perks of my current job is no trips to King of Prussia.

I'm inclined to agree... I've worked with them locally before. It can be a frustrating endeavor. Right now I'm just hoping they don't pick a date thats two weeks from now and that lands on a Wednesday.

that post has a link to the interview Dr. Paul gave today where he talked about the planning for the march.
it sounds like Dr. Paul himself is going to do this and based on his campaign update from YouTube, he considers this his idea so I expect that he will run with it and do all the appropriate planning.
He will pick the date, he will decide if its going to be a rally or a march. According to Dr. Paul rallies are easier to manage than a march through the city.
take from this what you will. between the youtube video and the AJ interview, I have come to the conclusion that this is going to be an event that Dr. Paul himself will take charge of.
I plan on attending and bringing as many people as I can. Once I know the date, I will start the ball rolling for travel and accommodation planning for myself and as many people from my neck of the woods that I can get to go.

i was thinking to take a train myself. would be cheaper and easier to get several people to go to, although many of my friends and family having been talking road trip for the last couple weeks.
i guess it depends on where you are coming from, but yeah, next couple days we should have an answer on the date from Dr. Paul.

We are in charge - not HQ. The only thing we need is a date, we're waiting to hear from RP on that any time now. We have formed a non-profit org. called Revolution Management Foundation to take the donations/pledges and to handle the permit, etc..
The event organizers (Bryan Siemon and Raymond Powell) are in the process of forming a committee. I put the word out last week on this forum inviting anyone who wanted to be a part of the planning committee to call in during the conference. About 20 of us called. If you want to be a promoter (someone who spreads the word) or on the planning committee, you need to be in on the call tomorrow. The only way you will be kept in the loop is if you sign in at the site: www.revolutionmarch.com
I'll post a thread to this affect as well. And I will do my best to try and keep everyone up to date.

I think I'll wait a week for the dust to settle before I go signing up on anyones website. If it were a week ago, then this is before the annoucement. I do remember people talking about it awhile back, but didn't pay much attention.
I'll let the dust settle like we've done with the money bombs, and may the most capable come out on top.

Glad you understand.. I just remember the days of everyones plans for the next moneybomb, and a load of unrelated websites springing out of nowhere. Nothing personal, just been through the ropes a couple times here.

This is likely the most sensible thing to do. I only wish that more people thought this way since there are already at least three different websites being promoted in various locations. And since we still don't have verification of exactly what HQ is thinking, I'm just going to wait and see what Ron Paul says when he announces the date. Then take it from there. Id rather more grassroots control on this one, but anyone that has put something together and had HQ constantly changing things knows why I'm thinking this way. I don't want to butt heads on this one. It needs to be clear cut with who is doing what-on both sides of the fence, just so there isn't any confusion-which makes promoting it and getting people there that much easier.
