I got this through me meet-up group. Moms for Ron Paul and Libertarian Moms Groups have been kicking around the date: April 19, 2008 (a Saturday). It would be a day of our own. (not Memorial Day or 4th of July)

April 19th 1775: Minutemen Capt John Parker orders not to fire unless fired upon. A shot is fired and the American revolution begins at the Lexington Common. That was the "shot heard round the world"

What do you think?

Ron Paul himself is going to announce the date. ;) We're all waiting on word from the man. :)

That's not the date. We don't have one yet. It will take a day or two to figure out.

My vote is for May 25th (the Sunday before Memorial day)

My reasoning for May 25th...

It's later, but not too late.
It's on a Sunday so we'd have the weekend to travel.
It's the day before Memorial Day holiday so it's a 3 day weekend.
The southern schools (and colleges) get out in early May so they'll already be out of school.
Student's on the East coast won't have as far to travel and won't miss any class' because it's a holiday the day after

I like it-either that or April 15 (tax day).

How do you know RP will announce the date?

Logistics will definitely not work... No college students will be present unless they skip classes on Friday, and I'm not about to ask a few hundred thousand kids to skip classes. It needs to be after April 30th anyway, as we need to have something OTHER than Ron Paul signs to hold up, and his book is released on the 30th... If you had said April 20th, I would have been all for it, just for shiggles...

Ron Paul stated today on the much-hated Alex Jones radio show that he was considering memorial day or independence day as the date for the march/rally. He stated that he was going to be in Washington, DC to explore a site for the rally.

He will NOT announce a date... he will announce a date WHEN WE DECIDE.... he will make a press release or make a video telling everyone the date all of his followers decide on. Ron Paul will NOT decide for us.

Yeah, there is a tax day march already planned. Shouldn't we just go with that?

According to people who talked to HQ this morning, he will decide the date.

Why don't someone just make a poll with some dates in it.

NO. The march should be in June. It needs momentum for it to gain attendance. I hope Paul realizes this . . . April 19 is a good day for a money bomb, primarily because it allows momentum (2x as much for the Tea Party) and also would give us the whole fireworks thing. The rEVOLution would "suspend the echoes of the shot heard 'round the world" with fireworks at a designated time . . .

April 19 is a great day, it's the shout heard round the world and gold standard thing, but it's not march savy. I'm really hoping he goes with June. Particularly, the 21.

I like "March Heard Round the World" as the name though.
