Why don't we figure out what kind of a permit it takes to make this happen?

Why don't we call the office in charge of said permit?

Why don't we ask what days are available within our 3-4ish month timeframe?

Please stop bickering about unfounded guesses on what days might be available.
It makes me cry.

ummm....

You are a genius. Truly.

Yes, but the trend stands.
All the common sense posts get immediately buried by more polls about dates we have only speculative viability stats on.

Even us RP supporters fall to useless bickering.

... common sense and efficiency falls with it.

This is an old article BUT I'm sure this is where we should begin:

"Washington, D.C.: Will the police come down pretty hard on unpermitted protests, or will you let them go since it is a holiday weekend and disruption will likely be small?

Alfred Broadbent: The police would recommend that all groups that want to march on public space obtain a permit. Permits can be obtained by responding to our Special Operations division located at 23rd and L St., NW.

The reason the police recommend that you obtain a permit is so that they can ensure the safety of the marchers while they are on public space and also to plan around dignitary movements of the president and other foreign dignitaries who might be traversing the streets of Washington. "

also it would be wise to get information on the gay week and bbq from city officials and people who have actually been there instead of guessing what i might be like.

I'm sure some wimp will file for "papers" but I personally think it's a mistake. We have a right to peacebly assemble and voice our grievances. I'm willing to stand on the front line of a march WITHOUT their "permit" and let them haul me off before I'll ASK PERMISSION to exercise my RIGHT!

I would much rather publicize the event, and make it PLAIN that we will NOT be asking ANYBODY for permission!
