pistols in Ohio

Are citizens in Ohio required to register their hand guns or required to present a purchase permit when buying a handgun like we are here in Michigan?

i've heard that the laws there are more like what we have for rifles and shotguns in that there is only a background-check-phone-call made... is this true?

thanks guys for responding. i found a nice gun show, that i guess is the "loop-hole" that i'll be attending. The thought of knowing i can have a gun off the books, that i can pass to my son, and he can pass to his, even if they take our guns away, makes me smile :-)
