- The day the Constitution was ratified

- School is out

- A Saturday

- No conflicting events in DC that we are aware of thus far

- Plenty of time to promote, gather supporters (pledges?) and save money for travel

- Summer solstice (longest day of the year)

- BBQ!!!!

Can anyone think of more?

ONLY drawback is it does seem late, but we'll have to see what morning members think I guess (and the campaign if we want Paul there)

BBQ. Oh, yeah--I keep forgetting: Ron Paul, Constitutionalist. Ummmm..BBQ

I love skeet's idea for the June 21, 1788 (http://www.brainyhistory.com/events/1788/june_21_1788_44185.html) U.S. Constitution goes into effect as New Hampshire is 9th to ratify.

Ratification of the Constitution.

A Constitution March on Sat., Jun 21, 2008!

For an earlier one if that one is too late:

May 25, The day the Constitutional Convention Convened!: (a Sunday--the day before Memorial Day Holiday): May 25, 1787 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1787) - In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia%2C_Pennsylvania), delegates convene a Constitutional Convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Convention) to write a new Constitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution) for the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States). George Washington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington) presides.

It's more than 90 days away. It's in the middle of a three day weekend, but not on a holiday. It's about the Constitution--about taking the first step in creating it. It's after the kids are out of college.

Too late... 678....

NOOOOOOO

Picking a day because it has a sequence of numbers is just silly.

ok, that ones kinda goofy but you get my point.
also rhymes with plenty of other good words like state and legislate for some nice chants.

June 21st seems to have ALL the ingredients...

- the day the Constitution becamse the law of the land.
- Summer Solstice - longest day of the year.
- Barbecue...
- PLENTY of time to plan and market.

Hard to argue with all that.

Well, anything past April 22 is "too late" so why not, since no one thinks that over 2 months planning is enough time.

But April 19th would be ideal, since there'd still be 9 states voting after the march and its a Saturday and its the day "the shot was heard round the world."

No offense, but April 19 is the worst choice. A LOT Of bad stuff happens on that day. The Waco massacre, the Oklahoma city bombing, school shootings, etc.

Besides it's too soon.

June 21st, everyone is out of school. As others have mentioned, the more time to plan the better!

Right, screw the Constitution one, we want the one that leads itself best to mindless chants.

The 7ths best argument is not the chant, it's Lee's Resolution.

But I think the 220th aniversary of the Constitution is the strongest, and that day is June 21, 2008.
