I love skeet's idea for the June 21, 1788 (http://www.brainyhistory.com/events/1788/june_21_1788_44185.html) U.S. Constitution goes into effect as New Hampshire is 9th to ratify.

Ratification of the Constitution.

A Constitution March on Sat., Jun 21, 2008!

For an earlier one if that one is too late:

May 25, The day the Constitutional Convention Convened!: (a Sunday--the day before Memorial Day Holiday): May 25, 1787 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1787) - In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia%2C_Pennsylvania), delegates convene a Constitutional Convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Convention) to write a new Constitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution) for the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States). George Washington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington) presides.

It's more than 90 days away. It's in the middle of a three day weekend, but not on a holiday. It's about the Constitution--about taking the first step in creating it. It's after the kids are out of college.

April 15th, hello? Put it on the poll at least. Don' pull a FOX.

We've already got BIG plans in the works, which this will dovetail into perfectly.

How is June 7 meaningful? Other than "6/7/8"

I think the day the constitution was ratified is a good choice. Perfect for the cause.

Too much bad stuff happens on that day. Waco, Oklahoma city bombing, etc.

I think there should be a lot of choices, and the choices should be winnowed down so that there is at some point a runoff.

I like June 7 and June 21 and I'd like to hear, at some point later, arguments for and against those dates.

i think lack of meaning is a good thing. after all, the constitution should be followed everyday and not just remembered on one day. any way to make this poll like the democratic iowa caucus and remove the choices that aren't viable?

June 21 is on a weekend, high school and college kids will be out, families can plan their vacations around this date, and there will probably not be many other activities to interfere in DC on this day. Also, the country will not be traveling or partying as a whole either, as they do on July 4th, so people might actually pay attention. Someone should quickly study all of the states final conventions and make sure it does not conflict as well.

678 is easily the best date. It's not a holiday it's a completely meaningless day that we can turn into a memorable day.

That and look what everyone is doing. 678. It rolls off your tongue. It is a VERY marketable date.

678 all the way.

thegr8drronpaul

Either date would be great as far as getting max. turnout.

Symbolically June 21st is better probably, but June 7th could go down in history as a new day for the revolution.

I initially would think the sooner the better, but I guess it's just 2 weeks later ... not sure now ?!?!?!?!

Why does it have to be in the summer? Somebody please explain. But if the reason is "vacation" don't bother. This is NOT a vacation. This is about saving our country. It's not a video game.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!”

it's not about vacation at all. it's about having reasonable expectations for people making the trip. it's enough to ask people from all over the country to come to washington dc for this event but it's even more to ask them to miss school (or make their kids miss school) to attend. I understand that people think 6/7/8 is catchy but we have to be practical. we will get a MUCH better turnout on 6/21. It's about people showing up so it NEEDS to be something most people will be able to make.

if you can provide a reasoned argument explaining how 6/21 will have no advantage in terms of attendance over 6/7 then i'm all ears. But i think you'll find that there is no choice but 6/21 if you're looking for MAXIMUM attendance, not just "making our own history" because it's 6/7/08...

I voted July 4th, then realized the stupidity of that vote. Media might not pay attention. So, let it be known I support June 21st. Far off and it doesn't compete with holiday a whole lot of people celebrate.

it's not about vacation at all. it's about having reasonable expectations for people making the trip. it's enough to ask people from all over the country to come to washington dc for this event but it's even more to ask them to miss school (or make their kids miss school) to attend.

Dude, most colleges get out May 20th or earlier....

Give me a university to look up... MOST of the universities are out by Mid May.

June 7th is Summer school. There may be like 2 colleges in the US that have a Spring semester extend past 6/7 but I think having 6/7/08 far outweighs the cost of having 5 supporters not show up...

Suppose the theme is to demand that congress and the incoming president obey the Constitution. Naturally, our man is the one for the job.

Most marches have something to petition for. We want the constitution obeyed. People remember a catchy name, like million man march. Ours could be something about legalizing the constitution.

April 19th would let us march before the last 9 states primaries. That could equal a lot of extra delegates, and thats our main mission.

I think this needs to be done sooner than later.

What about late March, early April? When is spring break for schools?
