If we call it "March for the Constitution" or "Constitution March"we will draw even more people to our cause.

The Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788 - that falls on a Saturday this year.

Schools are out and it would not conflict with any other holiday....
It also gives us lots of time to gather suporters.

Let's do this!

We will need to unite all efforts.

I love skeet's idea for the June 21, 1788 (http://www.brainyhistory.com/events/1788/june_21_1788_44185.html) U.S. Constitution goes into effect as New Hampshire is 9th to ratify.

Ratification of the Constitution.

A Constitution March on Sat., Jun 21, 2008!

For an earlier one if that one is too late:

May 25, The day the Constitutional Convention Convened!: (a Sunday--the day before Memorial Day Holiday): May 25, 1787 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1787) - In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia%2C_Pennsylvania), delegates convene a Constitutional Convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_Convention) to write a new Constitution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution) for the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States). George Washington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington) presides.

It's more than 90 days away. It's in the middle of a three day weekend, but not on a holiday. It's about the Constitution--about taking the first step in creating it. It's after the kids are out of college.

06/07/08 is more memorable.....

It needs to be sooner. Tax day, April 15.

We need to move soon, like Dr. Pail said.

It makes sense.

Yes 678 is more memorable, but we can draw alot more folks who want our leaders to follow the Constitution. 4-15 is also a good day for tax protestors, but school is still in session.
The June 21 date could be the one.

Sorry to sound rude, but why can't people understand that we can't do it in April!

We have HUGE numbers of college kids in this revolution and if you want a high turn out you will have to work around their schedule.

Isn't this common sense??

Just ask which month would receive better turnout

April?
June?

NOT Tax Day. Summer time. Jun 7th or 21st!

There are already plenty of Tax Protestors rally on 4-15 throughout the country and do they get any media attention?

Hell No to 4-15!

I'm not so sure.

When I was in college, I'd rather miss class than miss work in the summer. I also had access to an organized base of students (for planning and car pool) vs. the summer chaos with my disaffected friends.

Please wait until schools out.

this is an awesome day for it, symbolism-wise.

06/07/08 is more memorable.....

Dec. 16th wasn't memorable, but it had deep significance, and evoked emotion, pride, history, called for action, etc.

I was the one who initially suggested June 7th, but June 21st is nice too.

I'd think the sooner the better, but both are great choices - let's do one final poll with these two dates.

Bump for the Consitution. We can rally alot of support behind the idea of the constitution. This 6-7-8 stuff is no good. We need a theme and the constitution is the best theme there is.

I'm fine with either June 21st or the 7th, but I prefer the day the constitution was ratified!! 21st!

Agreed "March for the Constitution" is a great theme for 6-21-8 and could be our rallying cry!

Nevermind. I heard that it's an obsolete document. It didn't let the President declare war--that sounds very dangerous--and scary.

I initially jumped on 6/7/08 but June 21 Constitution Day is looking like a sweet deal.

Lots of potential for educational reminders of what the Constitution stands for, what led up to it, the sacrifices, etc.

Freedom, BBQ, constitution, AND the longest day of the year!!! It will be perfect.

But maybe we should still run it by Paul first, to see if it's good for his schedule.

Since this thread began - dozens have been created.

There are lots of great ideas floating around.

Dr. Paul will decide soon so we can get on wth the business of organizing this thing.

This will take months to plan... like at least 3... May, June... June would be best, because school is out... that is what's up.

June 21st!!!! You have to wait until everyone is out of school ...which isn't the case on June 7th. You must realize that this will be mostly attended by families with kids in school and by college students. June 21st is the way to go then. Plus its the anniversary of when the constitution went into effect!

I think the Constitution and BBQ Day on the 21st of June would be perfect! We can convert them into Ron Paul supporters with slim jims, etc. Also someone said it is the longest day of the year!

My reasoning for May 25th...

It's later, but not too late.
It's on a Sunday so we'd have the weekend to travel.
It's the day before Memorial Day holiday so it's a 3 day weekend.
The southern schools (and colleges) get out in early May so they'll already be out of school.
Student's on the East coast won't have as far to travel and may only need to miss one day of class (but probably not because of the holiday)
