Ron Paul requested a March in the next few months.
Here is a good list of options in that range.

We can do this convention style.
Vote for your favorite day, and after a reasonable amount of time, I will eliminate the lowest scoring option and start the poll over.

April 6th (sun) = Flag day

April 15th (tues)= Tax Day

May 17th (sat) = Armed Forces Day

May 26th (mon) = Memorial Day

June 14th (sat) = Flag Day (another one)

June 19th (thu) = Emancipation Day (AKA Juneteenth)

June 20th (fri) = American Eagle Day

July 4th (fri) = Independence Day

August 20th (wed) = Ron Paul's Birthday

Other, please specify, if there are alot of requests for a certain day, I will add it to the next poll.

I know there are alot of polls going around here. So I tried to make a comprehensive one to help us actually make a decision.

please consider this poll. the rest don't consider enough days in may and june! and that may be the target zone.

Also, keep in mind, RP requested a day in the next few months, so anything after July 4th is well out of the range. Please think before you vote and look at the day of the week that it falls on!

Also, if you approve of this poll, please bump it. There are alot of polls here, but most don't look at all the options. We can widdle it down here and then ask the broader RP fanbase.

June 21st....

First Day of Summer!!

I guess that has nothing to do with Ron Paul....

But it's a Saturday.

I like Flag Day (the June one) as well.

Oh and June 22nd (Sunday) was the day that Congress Recognized the Pledge Of Allegiance in 1942.

I voted other:

Something between May 26th and June 14th. We need a day that there are NOT already events planned on DC. Both days have events on DC that the media will cover over our march

I don't think i can edit the poll. just vote "other" and post it here. if there are alot of cries for other days, i will add them in the next round of voting after i eliminate the least popular days.

I totally AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! June 7TH!!!!!!!!!!! Also it happens to be (1893) Gandhi's first act of civil disobedience.

not that we'd have to center around this obviously, but more of coincidence.

Saturday, 7 JUNE
- Anniversay of Ghandi's first act of Civil Disobedience (although I don't really care about that little tidbit)

June 28th...

the weekend before july 4th weekend. Its a Saturday.... its 6 days before the 4th.. its 4 months and 2 weeks away. Everyone is out of school. (by a few weeks). Its summer. (people can camp) . It after most of the primary stuff (wont interfere with captains work). I think people will generally be able to manage making this date.

What are the events?

I voted for April 15th just because it is Tax day (anti-IRS) and also weekday
and that would get more coverage rather than it being on a weekend.

I would have picked Independence Day, but the good Doctor urged in his
video that this should happen sometime soon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryMliyeIDp4) and not months in the future.

Hey Everyone. I know I probably forgot a day you think is good. I cannot edit this poll now. Just vote OTHER and include support for it in a post. It will be included in the next round of voting after the least popular days are eliminated.

The memorial day march.

also, make your arguments about which days are feasible or not here. If a day is impossible because there are 13 other marches going on.... let us know!

that one is good, we should go with it. This needs to be on the weekend if we want people to turnout.

All the more reason to make it Sat, June 7th!!!

yes, jrich makes the BEST point of the 20 threads started in the past half hour.

We want media attention on US - isn't that (half ;) ) the reason why we are doing this?

June 7th is smart.

Not on holiday.

Good for the college mates.

(Presuming) No big story, media will be forced to deal with us!

Heres my 2 cents,

July 4, 2008 The Resigning of the Declaration of Independence March on Washington.

Everyone come to Add your signature to the Declaration of Independence.
Also add your signature to the Constitution.
Ron Paul could do a swearing in type thing where We all take an Oath to Preserve, Protect and Defend The Constitution all at once.

This gives us an Event just before the GOP convention and gives time to plan and build support. The 4th is on a Friday so it could be a 2 or 3 day event in total with other events on each day. Gathering signatures on Friday, March on Saturday and Grassroots organizing and networking on Sunday. Also, might as Well throw in some Protest of Maybe the IRS and a few other prime locations.

Bring back the True Reason We Celebrate the 4th of July, The Declaration of Independence!
