HUGE!!

Announces it around 11 minutes

This is the moment we have been waiting for

Ron asks to make it within 3-4 months, which would mean between mid May to mid June

We need a date that school is out. It is ignorant to ask thousands of students to flunk finals to go to a march, and we need as many people as we can get.

Loyalty Day May 1st puts us at 3 months out yet school is still in.

Purpose.— Loyalty Day is a special day for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom.

July 4th puts us at 5 months out but school is out.

Hell of an idea, just what the doctor ordered for this country. 5 million patriot march on DC. I'd say pull this together on the 4th. Plenty of time and should be massive.

Just tossing a date out:
August 1st,
The eve of 7/31-8/1 is the pagan holiday Lammas which traditionally is when you reap what you have sown for the previous year, in a karmic sense. For many it has greater significance than Samhain which most of you know as Halloween.

Also August would give us a lot of time to plan and organize busses and stuff.

This is what I have been saying...it should be the day.

On April 19, 1775, British and American soldiers exchanged fire in the Massachusetts towns of Lexington and Concord. On the night of April 18, the royal governor of Massachusetts, General Thomas Gage, commanded by King George III to suppress the rebellious Americans, had ordered 700 British soldiers, under Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith and Marine Major John Pitcairn, to seize the colonists' military stores in Concord, some 20 miles west of Boston.

A system of signals and word-of-mouth communication set up by the colonists was effective in forewarning American volunteer militia men of the approach of the British troops. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem "Paul Revere's Ride" tells how a lantern was displayed in the steeple of Christ Church on the night of April 18, 1775 as a signal to Paul Revere and others.

host of horsemen blanketed the Middlesex, MA countryside spreading the alarm that the Regulars were out. Paul Revere was only one of many midnight messengers to ride.

Close Calls, Revere Captured

When leaving Charlestown, Revere spotted a redcoat patrol on the road to Cambridge. He was forced to take the road through Medford instead. Meanwhile, Dawes was making headway, taking the circuitous route through Roxbury. At the same time, dozens of nameless riders were fanning out over the countryside pounding on doors and firing signal guns across rivers until the entire population all the way to New Hampshire had been warned. Revere and Dawes made it to Lexington and warned John Hancock and Samuel Adams. They were joined by Samuel Prescott and at about 12:30 AM the three riders set off toward Concord. Then disaster hit. They ran into another British patrol. Dawes was unhorsed and escaped to walk back to Lexington but Revere was captured. Prescott escaped leaping over a stone wall on horseback. He made it to Concord where another rippling circle of riders galloped off to alert the Minutemen.

Just did some poking on Lammas history and found this:

In some areas, Lammas was a time of sacrifice. Sacrifices at Lammas were made to thank the Deities for the First Fruits and to guarantee an abundant Harvest. The victim was often the king, who was God Incarnate to his people. Sometimes a substitute king, a fool or "scapegoat", was sacrificed in the king's stead.

The last recorded sacrifice of a king of England may have occurred at Lammas, in the year 1100. King William II (Rufus the Red, or William Rufus) His death in a "hunting accident" on August 2, 1100 c.e., is believed by many historians to have been a case of the traditional sacrifice being disguised for the sake of the Christian priests.

Yeah, it's about freedom, but they are not going to show up if they are going to flunk out of school because of it....end of story...they have final exams to take...it would be a HUGE mistake to burden college students to the point they won't show up....they also have futures to worry about....

Well...

Dr. Paul... Im there. Im bringing as many people as I can.. Im promoting this coast coast. I hope I can get a couple pro American acts to join us.

ITS TIME TO SHOW THE WORLD AMERICANS LOVE THEIR COUNTRY.

Dear anybody,

You want to make a statement to Washington DC? Then plan a date to show up in Washington DC. Show up in mass. Thats the only way we are going to send the right message.

Remember this, we dont have to be armed to spark a revolution. As far as Im concerned, our Constitution is law. Everyone else is just kidding.

Personally, We should plan it for July 4th. Im down for any other date... but take it from a show promoter.. You want to get the most patriotic citizens...

DO IT JULY 4TH.

We celebrate an event that sparked a generation of people to lead the world. We need to celebrate our roots. As a promoter... You need enough time to make this event cultivate into a movement. Trust me... 'If you build it.. They will come.' The only date, IMHO, that makes any sense at all, IS INDEPENDENCE DAY.

We can make this event into what ever we want. It would only cost around $100-$150K depending on a few elements. Ive organized shows with four stages. Ive been responsible for 14 flights from around the world. Ive paid over 100 people in one night.

I know how to organize an event like this.

Whoever is in charge... Ive got a lifetime of references. Lets make this event the most talked about in 2008. Its really not that hard if enough people believe in it. I PROMISE YOU. If you can create a buzz... book a few key headliners... acts will begging for stage time.

Seriously folks. You want to move America? Sidestep the media and create the largest event of the year. Bring enough people under one cause that it lights the country. Its the only way I see it happening. Do you really think the TV is going to talk about Ron Paul unless we create the buzz?

Ill see you there.

This includes demonstrating in Washington D.C. So you have decided to redress a particular grievance in a demonstration in D.C., now what do you do? Read on to learn how to organize a demonstration in Washington. There is this huge misconception that only large national organizations are able to conduct a march or protest in the District of Colombia, but in reality, anyone can. The problem is that many people do not know where to start. The information is not available through the Washington, D.C. website. Follow the guidelines below, however, and you can conduct a protest or march in Washington with ease.

Steps

Step One

Decide on the type of demonstration. When it comes to demonstrations in D.C., most people are familiar with marches: March on Washington in 1963 where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his now famous speech I Have a Dream; Poor Peoples' March on Washington in 1968 and the Million Man March in 1995. Start planning at least three months ahead of your anticipated march. Permits are approved within 48 hours but you can submit them up to a year or more in advance. The earlier you start, the better.

Step Two
Decide on your cause and be specific. Make sure you are focused on the message you want to send to those watching.

Step Three
Contact other like-minded people or organizations. It is better to have a coalition rather than go it alone. Others will have contacts that you won't have, thus making your demonstration more effective.

Step Four
Choose a date for the demonstration, and then determine who will be in charge of what and when the particular jobs must be completed. Create a calendar with a timeline including the date for the demonstration, and then work backwards listing every detail of what needs to be accomplished. To have a wonderful cause ruined by a lack of organization would be a waste.

Step Five
Decide on the location. Demonstrate in a heavily populated place for the most exposure. Visit the Dcpages website for a map of the District of Colombia. Determine the protest gathering point, march route and rally area. Print the map by hitting the ¨Print Screen¨ button on the keyboard. Use a yellow highlighter to plot out the different protest points on the map.

Step Six
Secure a permit for your demonstration. Contact the National Parks Permit Office by calling (202) 619-7225. Ask them to fax you a permit application. Ask them for the availability dates on the gathering location, march route and rally point. Once they have confirmed availability, proceed to fill out the entire application. Make sure to specify the estimated number of people participating in the protest and the main contact person. That person must sign and date the application. Make a copy of the application and the highlighted map for your records. Mail the original application and highlighted map to: National Parks Permit Office, Room 128, 1100 Ohio Drive Southwest, Washington, District of Colombia 20242. Wait about a week for a National Parks Agent to call. This agent will be specifically assigned to your organization for the permit application process. Have the agent give you her direct extension for further questions and information. Provide the agent with any additional information he may need to approve the permit. Ask him to fax you the approved permit immediately and mail the original back to you.

Step Seven
Start campaigning for participants with your permit in hand. The National Parks Permit Office will take care of notifying the District of Colombia Police and other city organizations that require special events notification. It's that simple! Contact the media and write press release information packets for distribution.

Step Eight
Write legible posters with correct spelling. Also, see to it that the letters are visible to those watching. The sayings on the posters should be catchy and memorable.

Step Nine
Abide by the laws. Those in your group who are short tempered will bring the wrong sort of attention to your cause. On the day of the demonstration, already have in place those you have appointed to squelch hints of disruption.

Tips & Warnings

Be friendly and polite to the National Parks Agent, she is your key to permit approval.
Call the National Parks Permit Office at (202) 619-7225 for help in filling out the application.
All applications must be mailed or walked in to the National Parks Permit Office.

Ron said in the video it was of UPMOST IMPORTANCE to have a HUGE showing or instead of being a good thing it would be a bad thing.

PLEASE!!!!! 3-4 months for planning and promotion to have the MAXIMUM number of people there.

WE MUST consider school schedules and weather as much as we can.

It is a GREAT opportunity and we'll be there.

This will be one for the history books! Just imagine:

"In 2008 the largest peaceful demonstration in U.S. history, organized largely by Ron Paul's legion of supporters, took place in Washington DC. The purpose of the march was to reclaim rights and freedoms lost under the decadent government of the time, now known to have been incredibly corrupt. The march, popularly referred to as "The Day America Woke Up" marked the turning point in 21st century thinking, and shattered the influence of the mainstream media"

I WILL SO be there. I will bring my family and a hundred of my friends too if i can get them to agree to this.

I will see all of you there. If I am not there I give you all full authority to hunt me down and kick my ass for being a traitor to this country.

I can already imagine the teeming crowd of millions of patriots standing up for liberty and justice...

I like the http://www.ronpaulmarch.com website...april 15th too soon IMHO (2 mos), though I like the idea...maybe we can recycle the website for the march on Washington.

We're at war folks (an unconstitutional war, but a war nevertheless)...I think Memorial Day is still the best day IMHO, and we get so many people there that all the other ceremonies join us when they're done! Maybe even hold the march on Sunday before the official Monday ceremonies if necessary (but weekends aren't usually as good)...if we do the main portion between like 12noon-3pm Monday, we'll be able to catch a lot of the official ceremonies (they usually begin around 8am).

Remember Lexington...
Remember Concord...
Remember the Alamo...

If the creeps who run this country did something like that, there is no way they would get away with it. They would be revealing their true nature to the rest of the world.

Don't let alarmists scare you into not coming. Even if there is frickin terrorist threats or something I will still be there.

Ron wants this fairly soon. We can do this for April 15, with still some states on the calendar.

Tax day is PERFECT for this march. It also needs to be a weekday (unfortunately), but we want to be there when Washington is in town.

The more I thought about it, the more I started to believe that we don't need to do this on another red-letter day; i.e. Memorial Day, Tax Day, Independence Day, etc. We need to do it politicians people will be working in Washington. The beginning of June when school is out. On a weekday. Have our own NEW red-letter day.

If we call it "March for the Constitution" we will draw even more people to our cause.

The Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788 - that falls on a Saturday this year.

Schools are out and it would not conflict with any other holiday....
It also gives us lots of time to gather suporters.

Let's do this!
