Well, WBAL-TV (Baltimore) reported at 6pm there were only two candidates left in the GOP race...........from all the local 6PM news I'd think Obama had already won or at least was the last one in it.

Wouldn't low turnout be a good thing? I mean, if your going to vote for Ron Paul than you are actually enthusiastic about voting for someone and nothing will stop you, but if your gonna vote for Mccain because he's "going to win" than you really don't have much motivation. The Huckabee people are probably just as motivated as us.

I wouldnt say that, pretty much all reports including my own show no one at the voting booths.

In the 06 election there was about 200 people or so in the line to vote, today there was 5.

Well the highly Republican areas out in western Maryland so far have had low turnout. I can say that my precinct didn't expect that high of a turnout.

Time of day has everything to do with it. The heavy times are between 5pm and 8pm. Voting in the morning like we did is like going grocery shopping at 2am on a Wednesday.

Incidentally, MSNBC was explaining their reporting on exit polls that starts at 5pm (not a coincidence), and that if the results were too far off expected, that they would "analyze" that and try to explain the anomaly - just managed to interview people at the wrong time/place, etc... In short, they are trying to influence the election. Fortunatly, most people vote on their way home from work - before being exposed to this garbage!

I'd say the opposite. When I stood at my precinct in Florida the main turnout was from 7-9am, yea there were more people from 4-7, but not close to the amount in that early morning. However, the morning crowd was more of the older population.

Man, I left work around 3:30PM so I could go to the voting place and hand out fliers and so on. Well when I got to my car, the back tire was flat. Anywho with how bad the weather is here and combine that with traffic and accidents, I just got home 20 minutes ago!!! I was expecting to get here around 4:15 and get to the polling area around 4:30. Anywho the sidewalks here are a complete sheet of ice and with how bad the traffic is today, I would not be surprised if the turn out is SUPER LOW.

To add on to what I just said, I voted this morning and in the 2006 election when I went to vote there was about 200 voters there in line, today there were 5 and I was the only Republican.

exactly - FL demographics are not the demographics of the rest of the US (Except maybe AZ - there they might be close... popular w/ retiring folks).
