I hate to admit it, but I don't have a clue about Gold. Is there a good website where I can purchase, or find a number to call?

Is it the same price anywhere you purchase it, or does the price fluctuate at different places?

DUH! I "really" don't know, and no one I know has any. lol

I'm serious though. Thanks in advance.

There are a lot of different ways to buy gold. Search this subforum for a number of threads that discuss the options in detail.

I found this website. It had free shipping and the prices look the same for the market.

I never bought metals before. I plan on buying a 1oz. gold bar and maybe a 10oz. silver bar.

Has anyone bought from this site? I don't trust the dollar anymore.

DON'T buy from NWT. You will eventually get your order but it will take months. They play the market and hope to win with your money while you call, email, and worry about where your metals are.

apmex.com or bulliondirect.com are both very reputable. I order from apmex on a regular basis and usually have my order inside a week.

Thanks for the tip. You saved me from a lot of frustration.

apmex has some nice panda coins.

APMEX is top notch.

BullionDirect is super easy.

I'll vouch for them both.

An easier way to own gold is through E-Gold (E-Gold.com) - I personally use E-Gold / they are going through some legal troubles with the US govn't for the past 2 years so buyer beware..

What ever you do, make sure you take possession of the physical metal. Don't let somebody con you into keeping it in a vault someplace. There are many who don't actually keep the metal in a vault and hope you don't find out. Even if they do keep the metal in a vault, you won't have it when you really need it. Keep it yourself or you may find when you really need it, you can't get it.

When it is time to sell it, what is the easiest way?

When it is time to sell it, what is the easiest way?

Shop around for the best price and then sell it.
Remember though, precious metals are a long term investment. You should never buy and then sell within three years of your purchase.

If and when the excrement impacts the pneumatic impeller, you may not have to look very far to find somebody to trade precious metals for other items.

Would dropping money in an electronic gold currency be a good idea? I was thinking it'd be easier to manage gold in like a pecunix/e-gold account.

If you dont want delivery of metal, goldmoney.com is the safest. They have vaults in London and Zurich. It is also has low fees/costs. You can buy gold in grams or silver in ounces. Today the premium over spot is only 80 cents on silver and $35 dollars on gold.
