neglect to refer to him by his proper title, which he has earned.

His title, if you will, is CONGRESSMAN Ron Paul.

Every time we refer to him as, "Paul", "Ron Paul", "Dr. Paul". etc. anything that does NOT refer to him as a Congressional Representative sends out the message that his is not. But he IS and deserves our respect for all he has done.

It would be a lot easier for folks to remember his name when he switches from Congressman Dr. Ron Paul to President Ron Paul.

Congressman Dr. Ron Paul cured my political apathy. :)

I think Congressman Ron Paul, M.D. would be more appropriate.

Paul doesn't care what you call him. I asked Ron once and he said, "As long as you're voting for me, you can call be George W. Bush if you want." Ron Paul! Dr. Paul! Paul! Ron! It doesn't matter.

THIS is the sentiment I agree with.
Titles, schmitles. In my opinion they are tools of oppression.

"Congressman" is a job, an office, it is NOT a title of Nobility.

BTW, you DO know that while in Congress they refer to each other as "The honorable gentleman from [Name of State]" etc.

Personally whenever I encounter politicians I refer to them as "Mr."
And I expect the same LEVEL of respect from them, so if they use MY first name (from name tag or such) I immediately begin using THEIR first name. (Hey if THEY think I am on a first name basis with them, I'll play along.)

But what always DISGUSTS me is when someone "bows and scrapes" before them and uses their job name as a "title" or worse as if it were their name. "Oh, te he, Congressman, you must be joking...te he he..." Blech.

You know... I think it is a very good idea to begin now referring to him as President Ron Paul.

Of course, it may just be me, but I believe that there is energy and power in both written and spoken words.

It could only help to add that kind of energy to the campaign.

I have more respect for Dr. Paul, Mr. Ron Paul... or even RON PAUL... than I do Congress, any member of congress or the president...

screw them all. Doctoral degrees are earned by hard work... Congressional seats are bought with rhetoric and spin. I'll keep showing him respect... I cringe to think he's actually a member of that cesspool

When I'm campaigning I refer to him as Congressman Paul.

Just don't call him Ernest ;)

I think we can think of more productive things to talk about than what to call the man. This is not a monarchy and he is a human just like the rest of us. Ill call him Rony if I want. Don't tell me what to call him like your something special.

Exactly! And folks (sleepers) would start making the connection that he BELONGS in office because he is already there. We just want to give him a different chair and new desk is all. And, a nice Office. ;)
