I am an expatriated American citizen living in Ontario, Canada. Ron Paul's message has my full support, and I have told everybody I know about him.

But the fact is, I am helpless to really do anything to help Ron in his campaign as long as I am residing in a foreign country. I would love to be a Precinct Leader and also want to do door-to-door canvassing, but of course there is not much point doing it up here in Canada :D

Now, I remember hearing something about volunteers for the Ron Paul campaign moving temporarily to states the campaign wanted to focus on. According to the story I read, the campaign paid for their room and board, so all they had to do was get themselves to the location.

I would be more than willing to pay for a bus ticket as well as my own food if I could find somewhere to stay in a state with a still-distant primary. I have quit my job and don't have a lot of extra cash so I can't really afford to stay at a hotel.

I can't find anything about volunteering in this way on RP's website, so does anyone else know if the campaign is still offering this?

Even if the campaign no longer is doing this, is it possible that I could find other RP supporters that could put me up temporarily for a few weeks before the primary?

After Super Tuesday I knew the campaign needed more help spreading the word. If every American understood Ron Paul's message, he WOULD be our next president. But the powers that be are putting up one hell of a fight by using their complete control of the national media to censor him, à la Soviet Russia. It is clear to me that every American that does understand Ron Paul has a duty to make a stand, right here and right now, to oppose this abominable force of oppression, or must risk losing everything that makes them proud to be American.

EDIT: What sections and subforums should I post this in besides Grassroots Central?

If you believe in this message and want to help - Canadians like you are who this country needs. I know its rough considering the state of the United States today, but we could sure use more people like you. Canadians that are more American than most Americans - imagine that.

This group organized for New Hampshire, they may be able to direct you how to help.

http://www.operationlivefreeordie.com/

But also, I suppose you could work on the Internet writing to local newspapers ect.
Finding out information about primary states and writing letters to voters ect.

I think there has been several letter writing projects.

Also, contact local Meetup groups and ask if there's anyway to help from out of town, or a way to go there and help.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Thanks for pointing that group out. I will contact them.

I participated in one of the letter writing projects, me and my bro sent out at least 50 letters to undecided voters in NH and Iowa before the primaries started. Didn't get any replies though.

I also donated $140 to the campaign, and convinced 2 other family members to donate as well.

Can anyone suggest any particular state which needs the most help right now? I will contact the Meetup groups there if I have some kind of an idea where to start.

If I moved to a state temporarily could I act as a Precinct Leader even though I would not be a permanent resident? Also, how long do you have to live in a state to vote in the primary/caucus?

Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Well to be fair I am both an American and a Canadian citizen. Right now I feel a lot more like an American though. Canada has done little to stand up for my rights. Did you know you can go to jail in Canada for typing certain things on the Internet? They call it "hateful speech" and this law prevents you from saying anything bad about "identifiable groups" like minorities or social groups like Goths or punks. Free speech my ass.

I just heard about the march on Washington that Ron requested in his latest video. I AM DEFINITELY IN! So I feel a little better now that I have committed to something.

Keep the suggestions coming though!

I'd say get thyself to Texas and Ron Paul's district if you at all can.

And Thank You!

International Ron Paul supporters can help Ron Paul's campaign getting US residents to see Ron Paul's ads on Youtube. All you have to do is advertise them.
