Looking for someone with web savvy (and very small amount of $) to reserve, design and host the following website/domain:

www.rightinronpaul.com (or something similar)

See also Tech Projects link below:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=117470

(This website would be to help promote write-in voting for Ron Paul if and when this becomes necessary.)

How about writeinPaul.com?:)

I don't think we need this site considering we just won Washington..... the capitol of the United States government!

Happy to do it, no problem, but could do with a little "help" if people are willing.

Spent so much on this campaign and simply don't have any more. I can get the webspace cheap (I already host a number of web sites for both myself and customers) and am happy to run it for free, but the set-up costs of doing something genuinely worthwhile are not low!

Wouldn't need much, maybe $500 or less, to cover it for a couple of years (domain registration, everything) but not sure how to go about raising it.

Will look at the possibility of putting a ChipIn on one of our sites and advertising it accordingly!

Leave it with me for a day or two...

PS - writeinron.com seems like the right way to go?!!?!

The common spelling mistakes on this site are rediculous!

I'll chip in few hard earned FRNs.

(BTW, the "rightin" part is a play on words, being that RP is the true "right" Conservative candidate...)

Too easily "murdered" by "them" as a spelling error though!

The humour is there but the simple understanding is not necessarily!

Play on words is good for marketing something people already know, but when they don't, they need something that they can easily remember for later. Straight spelling is the way to go here...

Personally, I thought you meant right as in he is good and righteous!

Just goes to show, same words, different ideas!

Let me lower the cost of the domain.

http://www.godaddy.com/

$10 year

Now go find a $5 year hosting company and then upload some simple html and you are done.

(It's all good..."something similar" would work just fine.)

OK...

Registered www.writeinron08.com (http://www.writeinron08.com)

Added to an existing hosting package with a reliable server. Those $5 servers CANNOT be trusted EVER! Anything like big traffic and, well, you're likely to get problems.

Costs not so high now, hoping they stay that way!

Will keep you all posted on work for it...Anybody got any functionality/image/scheme ideas to get the ball rolling?

namecheap.com <-- Free WHOIS protection for 1st year
http://www.webtiva.co.uk/

Every so often Webtiva has a $2 sale. I got 15GB of space for $2 a year from them and I haven't had a problem, ever.

Did you mean we won Washingston state, or Washington, D.C.?

Great! The simpler design, the better IMHO.

Some tie-in to http://www.ronpaulvotecount.com for affadavits would be helpful to help ensure RP "Right-Ins" get counted. http://www.writeinronpaul.com has a lot of good stuff on it but it's not very user friendly at this time. Maybe it can be improved upon. And of course links to campaign website, etc... would be helpful.

The more sites like this in our arsenal the better. (Looking forward to seeing it, and hopefully we'll never have to use it - even though it could come in handy for closed primary state voters in the interim).
