Never. D.C. is a place where guns are banned yet every gov't building has snipers and god knows what attached to their rooftops. If shit gets outta hand, we're all either dead or rounded up and there is nothing you can do to protect yourselves. That bigtime IRS rally didn't change anything. I'm not trying to burn out this great idea. Just suggesting we try to do it elsewhere.

i'm pretty sure the national election is on Nov. 6th... so having the march on Nov. 5th would be a cool idea because it would show our opposition to the two candidates. since this ron paul revolution really started to pick up steam from the nov. 5th, 2007 money bomb... it would be cool to see how much we accomplished in one year. we'd have time to make ron paul masks paper masks and do a whole V for Vendetta thing in Washington D.C. And if enough people show up in opposition to the two candidates, we might even be able to have a peaceful rEVOLution where we would have enough people to take over DC and install ron paul as the rightful president of the United States by the next day.

You need a reality check on this. One of the reasons the Philly rally was IN Philly was because the logistics of holding a large demonstration of any sort in D.C. are insane. You have to set up several months in advance, which means anything before June, at this point, is out of the question. So you might as well look at the Aug 8 date now and start filing your paperwork or you'll lose that as well.

I think everybody should save their vacation time for September 1-4 in St. Paul, Minnesota, for 2 reasons.

1) GOP needs 8,000 volunteers to run the convention, INCLUDING DATA PROCESSING!!! The more of those who are Ron Paul supporters, the better.

2) Chicago in 1968 made history, and it was nowhere near as organized as we can be.

ON TO THE CONVENTION!!!

I chose the 4th of July! My kids will be out of school and we can make a family affair out of it. Others in my meetup group are talking about renting a bus to get us all from Florida to Washington. Although the traffic will be bad - no one can use the lame excuse of having to work or kids in school for not attending.

The more time to promote the better in my opinion (=

What about Father's day? For our founding fathers? That would be June! I'd like to see us focus on men standing up for their rights again and protecting their families. We could put a really nice spin on that angle, appeal to male ego.

Middle of summer (July+) is WAY TOO HOT in DC. Families won't be out walking w/little ones. Any march we have on July 4 won't compete with the all day hoopla associated with the 4th in the area. There is security everywhere and they close off some areas for ticket holders only. Also, it should be AFTER the Revolution Manifesto comes out so we raise awareness on that as well.

"In a way reminiscent to the Hippies of the Vietnam War, wild Ron Paul supporters gathered in Washington D.C. today to protest the election. When told to clear the area, the radicals began throwing stones and molotov cocktails at the US military. Many were also carrying rifles and fired a warning shot into the air.

Paul's supporters were quickly broken up with tear gas. Many of the group's organizer's have been arrested for crossing state lines intending to incite a riot."

Maybe in a month, we'll get our own Wikipedia page on the D.C. 16.

Is everyone just flat out foolish? Are we going to be able to assemble 10,000,000 people or even 500,000 by by March 15 or even April 15th? And July 4th !! Come on people, millions of Americans already travel to D.C. for that day and any attention for Ron Paul would instantly be diverted and respect given to the 4th not to Paul's march. It would be easily hidden by the media and immediately swept under the rug. Honestly, none of those dates are acceptable. Once again, WE NEED TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!!

I say the 4th of July - Independence day..

We get our Stimulus checks in June and many people can use that to fund their trip.

The 4th is on a Friday and it would make for a great trip and family vacation.. I think the 4th is great - make a weekend of it..

Loyalty Day is observed on May 1 in the United States. It is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom.

[edit] History

The holiday was first observed in 1921[1] as "Americanization Day,"[2] and was intended to counterbalance the celebration of Labour Day on May Day (May 1), an internationally celebrated holiday which was perceived as communist.

Loyalty Day is celebrated with parades and ceremonies in several U.S. communities, although many people in the United States remain unaware of it. Although a legal holiday, it is not a federal holiday, and is not commonly observed.

It was made an official holiday by the U.S. Congress on July 18, 1958 (Public Law 85-529).[3][4] Following the passage of this law, President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaimed May 1, 1959 the first official observance of Loyalty Day. [5]

I know the 4th is too late based on what Ron said, but it would be quite a statement to draft a new Declaration of Independence... this time from the Federal Government. Have Ron read it from the front lawn of the White House; list the grievances against our current 'king' George. I can see it now.

Regardless, I will be there with my wife and four kids, whatever day it is.

Being in Ohio, I have driven to DC a few times....I wouldn't mind making an entire week vacation out of it myself because there is so much to see and do there....the museums are great, and the monuments are breath taking to those who love history and our country. Washington Monument was my favorite...the only thing that could make it a better trip, is to be there with real purpose such as this...I look forward to it.

This will take good organizing I think...hotels and helping people get there and get around when there....meeting places etc...I think we need some structure for this project seriously...

Ron Paul says 3-4 months, which is May-June. I think a weekend in early to mid June, after most schools are out for summer break would be best.

This doesn't have to be on a historic day. We're making history, and this will be OUR historic day!
