It's called momentum. You win first couple... goes from there.

Some people think they have an obligation to vote and they think by voting for the person who looks like the front runner they are voting for the Republican party. (even though they are voting against the Republican party when voting McCain. people are stupid, most people voting don't know why)

But the up trend started before the new year, before the primaries.

He was going nowhere until the NH press endorsed him. That is where you see the sharp increase. Romney was chasing 2 rabits, while McCain was zeroing in on NH. I think it was a perfect storm, and part winning by default.

OK... but it's not like he didn't have exposure before the polls started going up.

Most people have know who McCain is for a long time.

True. Call it positive media exposure then.

McCain is a veteran politician who has a professional campaign staff... this is what is "pure and simple".

The media drooled over him, when Giuliani started dropping.

The whole thing is so rigged to a such a degree that most people are unwilling to believe it can be that staged.

Notice Ron Paul's is the only graph that barely moved? He never picked up steam at all it seems. :(

He got the same media coverage throughout the whole thing: close to none. Everyone else went all over the place.

I just don't understand.

See those Rudy supporters? Where do you think they went? After some jumped to Huckabee looking for a new candidate, they found Huckabee wasn't it. They then mostly jumped to McCain. The later choice to endorse McCain wasn't a purely random one. Plus, after some issues, he did a smart thing. He shook up his campaign staff.
