Wait for Douglas and Johnson counties. The rest of the state is rural. Johnson and Douglas has most of the population of kansas other than sedgwick (Witchita). Johnson County is the wealthiest of all the counties and provides most of the funding for the state so the outcome might be different. Douglas is where Kansas University is and its pretty liberal.

My first caucus ...but from what I could tell it was a lot more people than they were expecting

We showed up 5 minutes before the checkin started at 9:30
Waited in line for a hour to get checked in
Waited another hour to vote and people were still in line waiting to be checked in

Lots of Paul and Huckabee supporters and signs

only 1 McCain sign

from the sound level of the applause Huckabee won

Not sure if applause level tells much about the McCain supporters because they were busy holding their noses while voting.

Johnson County is HUGE. I think it's passed up whatever County Wichita is in within the last couple years. There were a lot of ballots and they needed to be hand-counted. I'm not surprised by the slowness.

In the two counties that Ron Paul had his best showing (Sedgwick and Johnson), Keyes got more than 80 votes in each of those counties. That seems odd because in every other county, Keyes got single digit votes.

I don't think so. Those are the two biggest counties in the state. It makes sense they'd have more Keyes supporters.
