Whoa! What a year this has been. And what achievements we have had. If I may quote Trotsky of all people, this Revolution is permanent. It will not end at the Republican convention. It will not end in November. It will not end until we have won the great battle on which we have embarked. Not because of me, but because of you. Millions of Americans -- and friends in many other countries -- have dedicated themselves to the principles of liberty: to free enterprise, limited government, sound money, no income tax, and peace. We will not falter so long as there is one restriction on our persons, our property, our civil liberties. How much I owe you. I can never possibly repay your generous donations, hard work, whole-hearted dedication and love of freedom. How blessed I am to be associated with you. Carol, of course, sends her love as well.

Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons, the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be hearing much from you and me.

Sincerely,

Ron

Most of the people in here never go to other parts of the forum

Can't disagree with Ron's logic here.

Even if he doesn't make the White House, we sure need him back in Congress.

I can. The situation with Hillary and McCain is perfect for a third party candidate. The Republicans are going to make damned sure Ron Paul loses his congressional race. Obviously I hope he retains it but the odds are now very much against him.

I'm voting third party and I predict a very strong showing for whatever candidate that ends up being.

Finally we have this clarified.
I think it's better we concentrate on getting the nomination.

As the saying goes: "It's not over until the fat lady sings."

No, it's over.

Yeah. It's all over. The presidency. Any hopes for a 3rd party or indepedandant run.

How many times does Ron needs to inform his supporters that it's ALL OVER - for their own good - before it actually sinks in.

He probably hates to think people are still working their tails off and sending him money when there's simply not a chance anymore, and he's clearly more concerned now with his congressional seat.

His priorities are not with the presidency anymore. There is no chance he will win.

Hmmm, he also said he'd stay in it as long as we supported him and funded the campaign. Obviously, lots of things can happen in a short period of time. There are some really strange things going on in the world right now.

I'm sorry but I'm not giving up and I hope my fellow patriots will stand beside me.

But his supporters aren't funding him.

He asked for 23 million, and didn't get it.

He then asked for another amount (I can't recall the figure but it was substantially lower) and he didn't get it.

Now he has to trim his campaign just to stay afloat due to lack of finances more than anything, most likely.

He's trimming the campaign because over half the states have had their primaries and caucuses.

You're right: the funding requested didn't come in for a variety of reasons. Still, money is coming in and there's no estimate to how much the grassroots effort is worth. IOW, not everything is measured on the homepage graph.

I still think a lot of things can happen, especially with the economy and the fact that juan mc100war is so detested by conservatives with principles.

So I'm the eternal optimist. Sue me. For me, this is probably the only chance in my lifetime that something like this will ever happen. Quit if you'd like. I'm not.

It's not over until McCain has 1191 delegates. A lot can still happen.

Even if Ron Paul does not get the nomination it's still worthwhile to spread his message.

I can not help but feel let down by the news that there will be no Third Party run.

This just does not make sense to me.

I can only hope that he changes his mind

he has to think of his congressional seat. Plus we are working on getting more people like him like Dean Santoro....
