Hello All,
If you noticed, Dr. Paul used an extemporaneous style in his speeches at the CPAC and the Liberty University.
Ron Paul always speaks from the heart and unerringly speaks the truth - for which he can never be faulted.
There is a real chance that Dr. Paul will be pitted against Obama who has more flair than substance - but is undeniably effective.
I propose a speechwriting contest on this forum for upcoming events wherein Dr. Paul is scheduled to speak.
The best written speeches will be voted on by members on the forum and posted for Dr. Paul to consider. Naturally the contest has to end 24 hours before the actual speaking engagement so that Dr. Paul (or his team) can make necessary alterations - if they choose to use the material.
This would also be a good exercise for those among us who plan to follow in Dr. Paul's footsteps.
There is a tremendous amount of talent and energy in this forum. Let's harness it for Dr. Paul.
Comments are welcome.

Though I think the good Dr. does just fine, I like this.

Even though this is in good spirit, I don't think it is a good idea. RP has his message down pat. None of us can get inside his head and write a speech for him. He does well. Also it would probably come off as insulting to Dr. Paul.

I don't see it as insulting. Most politicians are far to busy to write their own speeches. They have a team of speechwriters. Not to mention each speech is specifically tailored to that particular audience. In the days of YouTube, this practice goes tenfold because not only the people AT the event can see it, but all the people who support that group who couldn't be there.
I don't think it would be a bad idea at all. There are some incredibly creative people who come here. The campaign is not arrogant, and if any one of these speeches (or any part of them) is found to strike a chord, I'm sure they would be thrilled to use it.
BUT, we cant just send them a hundred different speeches, they will never get read. We actually need to get it down to ONE.

Josh Groban gets more applause than William Hung, even if they both sung the same song.
It's all about the delivery, people. The message could be great - but if people tune you out in the first two minutes, they didn't hear it anyway.
I would be willing to work on one, as well as writing a kind of script for people calling talk show hosts. Woot!!!

Plus, I think Paul is a far superior writer than speaker already. His writing is really pretty fantastic.

Ok, I have my first draft. Who should I PM it to? I'm not posting it on the board, because sure as you-know-what some lackey from another campaign will steal it and I'll hear Mc100 or Huckaboo reciting it on TV.
(not that I think it's that great, but you know what I mean - I think I have an idea how RP can sway the pro-war crowd)
:)
