IOWA (R): A new University of Iowa poll of likely Iowa GOP caucus participants shows Mitt Romney continues to hold a commanding lead in the state. The GOP numbers: Romney - 27%, Rudy Giuliani - 11%, Fred Thompson - 7%, Sam Brownback and Tom Tancredo tied with 4% each, Mike Huckabee and John McCain tied with 3% each,Others - 10%. Talk about a total collapse, but did anyone ever think we'd see the day McCain was polling at a negligible 3%.

[working on more info to show where Dr. Paul's support stands]

Those numbers TOTAL... 59%. 69% including "other".

So the REALITY is that 31-41% is NOT represented here.

Either of which beats EVERYONE else hands down.

According to the article, the numbers only add up to 69%. So, if Ron Paul was NOT part of the "others 10%", that means that maybe his numbers are actually 31%...

That would mean, wonder of wonders, that he's in FIRST PLACE?????? One can only hope!

Romney 27%
Rudy Giuliani 11%
Fred Thompson 7%
Sam Brownback 4%
Tom Tancredo 4%
Mike Huckabee 3%
John McCain 3%
Others - 10%.

JUST posted there, but I realized later (after you pointed it out--I'm quick that way ;) ) that we've already discussed it.

Yup, they left his name out of that particular part of the poll. Either that or they simply left it out of the published results...

Here's a fun little tidbit that they left out of the press release of that poll:

Likelihood of Changing Preference
How likely is it that you might change your mind and end up caucusing for a different candidate than the one you support now?

Republicans
VERY LIKELY 13.8%
SOMEWHAT LIKELY 59%
