i hate colbert nowadays. i know he spits sarcasm, but he doesn't really do it for any reason other than to be an ass. in reality, he's a liberal.

You do realize he is a fictional satirical character right? ( I understand there is a Stephen Colbert the actual person, but he appears in character).

The actual character uses sarcasm to further liberalism.

Senator Tom Coburn

Coburn endorsed Mccain, the sellout. I would have possibly agreed with you before I heard the Coburn endorsement for Mccain. Coburn was one of the most vocal opponents of government spending in the congress, as well as one of the most social conservative. I personally find him a little *too* extreme on the social stuff (as he seems to be one who supports legislating morality, which Paul would take a neutral stance on when it comes to passing laws) but he has a very similar background to Paul. He is also an obstetrician who practiced while holding office.

I suppose anyone who is serious about cutting government spending dramatically is someone we need on our side. But anyone who would sell out and back Mccain deserves some second thoughts. Coburn wouldn't help a Paul campaign any, because he would just duplicate Paul's stances on some things, and alienate more people on other issues. He wouldnt bring in EXTRA people like a well known name such as Buchanan or Napolitano would. He also wouldn't bring extra eperience like a Buchanan or Napolitano would since he has the exact same background as Paul.

Michael Badnarik, the 2004 Libertarian Party candidate for President of the United States, has endorsed Republican Congressman Ron Paul (Texas) for President.

“My short term goal for the next two years is to make sure that Ron Paul is elected president in 2008,”

Badnarik, who is also a member of the Free State Project and plans to move to New Hampshire by the end of 2008, urged over 200 attendees to support Ron Paul for president by making campaign contributions and activating grassroots support.

“You cannot do it yourself,” he said. “You have to have wide, wide grassroots support.”

Badnarik also urged the Libertarian Party to nominate Ron Paul as well. “I hope the Libertarian Party is smart enough to say, ‘Oh ho, somebody we can trust!’ and nominate Ron Paul as our nominee,” he said. “We should set the Republican, Democrat, Libertarian labels aside, and vote for Ron Paul the person.”

Badnarik said that a large campaign war chest would be required to “scare everything out of the Republicans” vying for the Presidential nomination, especially with the media trying to close Paul out of the race and deny him coverage.

“He may be a Republican, but there’s already a news blackout on Ron Paul,” he said. “We are going to have to get that information out to our friends and neighbors without the media.”

Agreed. He would also make a perfect Attorney General or a Supreme. Supreme is probably where he would do the most good.

Napolitano is great and would be good for the Supreme Court. I doubt he would be a cabinet member in a Ron Paul presidency.
As for the people who think aligning Paul with Kucinich is just nuts. They agree on one thing; the war. And even with that, Paul is the only one who takes it from a Constitutional point of view. Besides, Kucinich brings NOTHING to the table except for maybe the few family members that voted for him in the primaries.
I think Goldwater Jr. would be great. Name recognition is very important and I think his would do a good.

Colin Powell would be very ideal, if he could be persuaded. He'd generate the right amount of publicity and credibility.

I had no idea who Bob Barr was before yesterday's speech at CPAC. After his introduction speech for RP, he might be my top choice.
