This is Ron Paul's hometurf, and as someone who has campaigned all over the country I can tell you that there's more per capita support here than any where else. It's plain that Huckabee is staying in as a rent boy for the neocon establishment behind McCain. He ruined Romney's run, and now he's going after Paul in his home state. This will not stand! Texas will be tough. Demographics much like Alabama, GA, TN, and FL. We averaged 4% in those states.

Folks, I hate to tell you this, but Ron Paul is not going to win Texas, unless a whole bunch of people get REALLY busy. Texas is a huge state. The governor doesn't even acknowledge that Ron is the race. My newspaper in Austin has endorsed John McCain. MsDoodahs, who also lives in Texas, sees "I support my President" bumper stickers, where she lives.

So, if we're going to do this, we're going to need a whole lot of help. No, not getting in people's faces, but approaching middle-aged and senior people like THEY WANT TO BE APPROACHED. We should be able to get a lot of votes, if we LISTEN to them and show them how Ron addresses THEIR concerns.

I know people in Texas who have never heard of Ron Paul not including Austin and Houston. I had to tell people who Ron Paul was. This is his own state! Dallas and the surrounding towns seem to be experiencing the biggest blackout in Texas.

Personally, I hope that you're right. However, I want to elaborate on the GOP game plan. The GOP wants McCain pure and simple. They have almost anointed him with Romney's exodus. To secure McCain's nomination, they intend to use Huckabee to sweep enough of the conservative vote in the remaining primaries to prevent Ron from picking up delegates. Without Huckabee, Ron would surely win the majority of the remaining primaries as the conservative base of the GOP hates McCain. After enough primaries have been secured by Huckabee to prevent Ron from gaining them, he'll drop out and support McCain. THAT is the plan of the GOP establishment. How do we thwart that plan?

Houston should be your main focus, if you're an out of state volunteer. Dallas- Fort Worth second. Austin third, because the support base is already strong there.

Don't forget Midland/Odessa, El Paso, San Antonio, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, etc, etc. Big state...lots to cover.
