If he is or ever was a true conservative - he needs to endorse Ron Paul now!

This was kind of a pointless thread.

Get a grip on reality. Romney is a tool of the establishment. He's not going to endorse Ron Paul.

Your premise is false. He isn't, nor ever was, a true conservative.

In his speech today when he announced he was leaving the race, he said that he's doing it to make sure the Republican party is unified in going after terrorists overseas. In essence, he was sacrificing his own ambition to ensure that our foreign policy of preemptive war continues. Does this sound like a man who would endorse Ron Paul? I think not.

lol, Romney endorsing Paul? While that would be very helpful, I have more belief in the billionaire showing up than this happening.

Romney is not giving up the nod, he wants to give huckabee a shot to bet mccain to gaurantee a brokered convention... if it wasn't the case he would of dropped out

Romney did endorse Paul!

If you listen to his little speech he was saying all the things Paul has said about taxes, spending, borrowing from china and all that stuff. I thought he was going to say Ron Paul, he sounded like a real american hero, but then....

He said, kill kill kill and hunt them down and kill.

That's about the point my TV quit working. (I killed it)

again, Romney is playing the concerned repblican card. He seems like someone who cares about the party so whent he brokered convention comes along he can negotiate the nod

don't believe his bullshit

Romney is pro-war. He wouldn't back Paul publicly.

Come on, y'all. Slap me on the back for predicting that Romney was the next domino to fall. I've got an ego bigger than Mt. Everest, so let's hear it for the man! :)

Oh Lord, thanks for your forgiveness as you inspired me to say the right thing initially anyway so you justifiably get the credit, not little ole' me. :)

Now that I'm deflated, I can breathe easy.

Although I thought that Romney might be next due to his financial status, his departure shocked me as I thought he was a strong contender for the GOP nomination. I don't think anyone at this point has a clue who Romney's delegates will eventually support.

He isn't, he wasn't and he won't.

The idea that Romney represented some sort of "Conservative" alternative to John McCain was pure illusion. He is just as liberal and always has been.

Personally, I think that scenario is probably accurate. The GOP establishment wants McCain as the nominee and they are desperate to ensure that outcome come hell or high water.

I mentioned this in another thread but it fits here too. I would love to see Mitt endorse Ron Paul just to see McCain's head explode from the instant rage.

Does anyone know how many delegates Romney has at this point? If he put them together with McCain's (714?) would it total 1191 and would that be all that's needed? I know that the delegates can still change their minds about who to vote for at the convention.

I dub Mitt Romney "The Revolution Killer".
