McCain was scared that he would get beaten by Ron Paul lol so he dropped out. What a wimp.

According to this (http://news-releases.uiowa.edu/2007/august/080807poll-results-republican.html), McCain's collapsed totally.

no grassroots and is being trailered to these events by Ghouliani. He quit because he is broke and no longer has the ability to pull the wool over the sheoples eyes. I just wish he would drop out but he is awaiting a miracle in Iraq to claim he "told you so", Sorry John unless you can hold out 2,000 more years, those people will never stop hating eachother.

Ya, that was why I was amazed I hadn't heard.

I love how this otherwise in depth article on the Iowa front only mentions Ron Paul once:

Just one time, near the bottom of the page...

...and 7 percent Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

Great. But while we're congratulating ourselves over McCain's misfortune we should bear in mind that Paul didn't do so hot. He got 2 percent. However this was just among registered Republicans. The key to Paul's success is independents. I think in the zeal to not "offend" Republicans, independents aren't being courted as strongly as they should. For example the Iowa call script doesn't even mention Paul's opposition to the Iraq war. Yes that might hurt among republicans, but it would help among independents. Crossover votes is what Paul needs more than anything.
