For those of you who missed it yesterday, the Collegiate Times (campus newspaper at Virginia Tech) published an editorial urging students and faculty to research issues on all candidates before voting. In the article, it stereotyped Ron Paul supporters as uneducated voters who are only interested in the election because of his stance on decriminalizing marijuana.

Yesterday afternoon, I wrote a letter to the editor of the newspaper regarding the article, in order to clarify why many of us support Dr. Paul. That article was published in today's edition of the paper, which has a circulation of roughly 30,000. The web version of my letter can be seen here:

Overall, the comments are generally positive on the web version....and I feel good about how it turned out.

Just thought I'd update everyone on the status. Freedom fighting, changing minds....one person at a time.

Oh and by the way, a big THANK YOU to everyone for not bombarding them with e-mails and letters. My letter got published, while I'm not sure it would have if they had begun to receive letters from non-students or faculty.
