Missoula Montana, population around 50,000, goes to Ron Paul.

"Though former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney decisively won the Montana GOP nomination, rowdy Ron Paul fans rejoiced Tuesday night when Paul emerged the winner of Missoula’s Republican Party caucus.

Missoula’s caucus, part of Montana’s first participation in Super Tuesday – the busiest day of the presidential primary schedule – drew about 250 people to the Doubletree Hotel ballroom. Ron Paul fans dominated the red-speckled crowd with the only political signs.

“Make no mistake, Montana is Ron Paul country,” Ellen Finnigan, a University of Montana graduate student said in a speech supporting the candidate.

Of 97 votes cast, Paul, a Texas congressman, earned 45, beating Romney by three votes. Arizona Sen. John McCain came in next with seven votes, followed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with three votes.

Will Selph, the statewide head of the College Republicans of Montana, said that though he knew the race would be close with Romney, Paul’s victory wasn’t a surprise.

“The Ron Paul supporters worked hard and did a really good job of getting their voters organized for the caucus,” Selph said.

I know Ellen and she did a fabulous job organizing everything. She is a HARD-CORE Ron Paul supporter and she deserves huge credit for this victory, small though it is.
