I will never pray for another cross-polar arctic airmass to descend upon your state ever again if you can pull this off

When did they close for the Dems? They're over half way done in Alaska.

I'd guess 30 mins earlier since they had 20% reporting before Republicans were supposed to close.

it's kinda wierd that every other state started reporting after the polls closed tonight but the only state we have a chance in, taking so long???

I'm pretty sure votes are hand counted in Alaska, so that could be taking some time too.

To be fair, the dems began counting long before the Reps. However, this long wait is certainly odd. Its approaching 45 mins.

Also, they can afford to stall until the CNN/MSNBC/Faux coverage stops for the night in hopes that AK is forgotten about. CNN, at least, hasnt displayed the Montana results ONCE tonite but still called Montana for Mitt. I see no reason why the GOP wouldn't stall on the AK results long enough to avoid calling a state for RP during coverage.

Wolf

CNN just said they're still awaiting GOP results from Alaska. So they're acknowledging it.

No bagging Alaska :) After all, around 500,000 RP supporters might be moving there very soon should things go our way tonight :)

They're probably not reporting yet because we won and the results won't be announced until after the General Election.

I noticed that too on CNN. Very odd. It makes no sense to not show the Montana results.

If only that wasn't very close to the truth. They don't want to announce it while people are still awake waiting for California results, if any still are. Once those numbers are in everyone will turn off their tv. I'll guess 11 PM (Pacific), give or take 10 minutes.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Unscientific entrance polls conducted by Channel 2 News indicate that Mitt Romney may hold an edge tonight in the Alaska Republican preference polls here in Anchorage.

Of 339 registered voters, 163 claimed to support Romney, while 88 supported Ron Paul.

Further, 54 voters intend to support Mike Huckabee and 34 support McCain.

Return to www.KTUU.com for continuing coverage of the Alaska presidential nominating contests.

Polls closed at 12:30 ET, its been an hr and ten minutes and not one district has reported. That seems a little odd, even if the turnout was larger. Everything tonite pretty much started reporting thirty minutes after the close of voting.

A sweeping win would be better. I'd love to demolish the others with 60% or more. The article quoted above makes that seem unlikely. But, it was just one location.

they'll still ignore us, even if we took a landslide victory in Alaska.....they'd do 1 of 2 things:

-ignore the State completely
-mention that a fringe candidate won the state
-Say "Romney placed in ahead of McCain" and "forget" about Ron Paul.

Sad but true. My wife has become as disgusted as me about it as it has become more than obvious. Did CNN really ignore the entire state of Montana! That takes balls to be that blatent.
