Eventually, you're right. Hopefully I'll be long dead before they get that far.

Aww come on man, nobody has been there or lives there?

I think it's gun-grabber territory, if I remember correctly. Something has it ruled out in my mind, and that's what I recollect. Of course, I'm one of those old voters, so I may be full of sh*t. :D

Socialist, and you have to prove that you will bring a benefit to the country before you can move there.

If you're planning a move, do research into what place is more than likely to guarantee your survival rate after a nuclear war.

There will probably be one within the next 10 years with people like John McCain saying there will be more wars.

Lord of the Rings took place there; it's hobbit territory and humans rarely venture out there.

I am a New Zealander. NZ is the western guinea pig for Socialism and total govt control of the people. Don't do it.

Well in this regard, NZ is the best place to be. Because of the way the jetsream is, it protects NZ from air from the rest of the world from circulating with NZ air. And no one has a device that could ever reach NZ unless fired from a ship or sub a lot closer to us.

New Zealand is pretty Anti-American, The quality of life is decent and the Government is moderate in power, they are loners however.

Your best bet would be Norway, its 95% English speaking and a very high quality of living, but expensive. The landscape is amazing however.

hi there,

yes a few of us on the boards are from nz. yes it's nice, but no you shouldn't jump ship and move here. you need to continue the fight for liberty in the usa...otherwise we are all doomed.

already this year in nz we have had new terror laws passed (after a ridiculous attempt by the government to insinuate that there are terrorists here - it was a joke....but it enabled them to speed the anti terror legislation through. Sound familiar?)

we've also had laws passed that limit the amount of money that an individual or organisation can spend in an election year on advertising. in other words, we are losing our freedom of speech.

we also have fluoride in the water, lots of it.

we are also owned mostly by the crown, or more accurately...the city state of London. which is actually a collection of representatives for the 13 biggest banking families.

on the positive side, we are isolated....and i believe that over the next few years people will be flocking here to get away. i'm buying land, and gold.

give me a yell when you get here, ok?

Correct!
Hi from New Zealand where it is summer.
We tend to read more here and challenge cherished myths. We can also effect change because there is only 4 million of ous.
We are friendly, open, nuclear free.
we are out-doorzy and healthy generally speaking. Auckland is the biggest polynesian city in the world. The South Island is drop dead beautiful.

We protest when the government pisses us off....vociferously. Because we are small we can fight the status quo and we often win.
At present we have a left-wingish govt. We also have gang problems, drug problems, homicides same as every where else.

New Zealand is pretty similar to Australia from what I have heard. The nanny state continues to grow. Centralization of power moves forward unabated.

I actually felt freer, in some ways, living in China than I do in Australia. It's a shame the weather sucks there.

How about Greenland? I never hear much about them..

I think there are places more economically free than the US, but if you like your gun rights, or the ability to drive around in a full sized pickup, or fly a private plane, there aren't many choices. If you don't mind learning Spanish, there might be options is Central/South America.

I wish there was someplace to escape. :(

Moving is a good idea. Why would anyone want to live in the US these days, a country filled with a bunch of dumbasses.
Northern Australia is better, cause it has better beaches.

Does anyone know if there are any aborigines or tribes anywhere that are cut off from the rest of the world (besides Africa)? I want to become a missionary and go live with them.

Seriously, anyone know of any?

yes there are some australian aborigines who have never had meaningful contact with the western world. they are isolated as a matter of law for the purposes of anthropoligical studies. if you go there you will be treated as an onject of curiousity but be careful cos they like to eat stuff.

I saw one once on TV. I think they were in South America.
And there are nomadic Aborigines in the Outback that don't have contact with anyone. But the outback isn't the nicest place...

Is it true that NZ citizenship comes with Australian citizenship?

Thus, people exploiting this to gain access to Australia?
