"Austin NAACP President Nelson Linder, who has known Ron Paul for 20 years, unequivocally dismissed charges that the Congressman was a racist in light of recent smear attempts, and said the reason for him being attacked was that he was a threat to the establishment."

uh,

his choice for Sec of Treasury is black.
he's treated minorities happily I'm sure as a doctor.
he's publicly applauded Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks, and was willing to pay $$$ out of his own pocket to honor them.
libertarianism is incompatible with racism, so there's a contradiction right there.
he will end the war on drugs, which disproportionately harms minorities.

i'm sure there are more.

Funny how this question comes up every time there has been voting and we're waiting for results.

Pardon non-violent drug offenders.

It's not really going to matter, I don't think. If someone thinks Paul is a racist, coupled with the MSM's shenanigans - they're not going to be swayed easily.

He was out of politics at the time. One or more ghostwriters wrote those and most of the many other non-racist articles in those newsletters over the years. They had his name on them the way Forbes magazine has Steve Forbes' name on it despite others doing most of the writing for it. You're supporting Paul because of his pro-Constitution, pro-liberty, and pro-peace views, not because he made the mistake of trusting people to not make him look bad.

His personal heroes include Gandhi and Dr. King, because they fought a corrupt system and practiced civil disobedience as a means of bringing changes to society. Even if he had questionable personal opinions on race or culture, he wouldn't be imposing them on anyone as president, since his philosophy is one of limited government and maximum freedom.
