View Full Version : Should we stage a MASSIVE sit in at Fox and CNN Headquarters?

Hey all, this is it...

I saw the Gandhi movie the other night. I didn't know much about Gandhi, but I was inspired to move past just elections. (no I should be canvasing, we voted already. :) )

more than half of our states will be voted by morning. Win or lose, I think those of us who have no one left to canvas should swarm NY and Atlanta and mob their studios. I'm not talking guns and shit... I'm talking peacefully mob their station with so many people, they can't even move to broadcast their lies without bumping into one of us. The cops can't shoot us all.

This is what they did in the Civil Rights movemnet. I just heard about these 4 guys who wouldn't leave a lunch counter and within days, thousands of people had joined them and all over the country. Segregation was dead after that for good.

It's our turn.

I have been mulling this over. I am in Cincinnati and would be able to travel to NY. Even in NYC alone we probably have enough dedicated supporters to make a difference with picketing or doing a sit in. Maybe we should set a date and get a pledge system going like we've been doing for fundraising.

We all have to set it up so we all meet at different places (like on street corners and parking lots in small groups like 200 close to the studio) and then all converge at the same time that way we cant be stopped. We would be coming from all directions.

with a little help, I could make a widget that people could post on any website anywhere (i'll host it in Iran if need be, that's what spammers are doing now days). Then, when you sign up, you get assigned to a random meeting place out of about a hundred or so... or something similar.

I think it is time civil disobedience.

There should be a website with very clear communication about the purpose of the protest. That is, that the media is trying to effect the election.

It should have a demand. Perhaps that demand should be for an enquirey into who led the blackout and it could ask for whistleblowers to provide information from the inside of the beast.

I disagree, it must be an indefensable cause.

The treatment of war veterans for example.

They will get the message, but the front must be something that when it's reported it looks GREAT for us.

Why don't we plan a mass sit in at our local Fox/NBC/CNN affiliates.

Pick a weekend that's coming up soon.

We could all where black.

Sit on the parking lot, or nearby curb all day and all night.

Signs that mention the bias and loss of objectivity - less focus on Ron

Spike
02-05-2008, 07:53 PM
I think it should tie in with the Iraq War anniversary that's around the corner. And we can publicize the treatment of veterans and force the light on their ever-worsening conditions here at home like homelessness, high suicide rates. The film "Body of War" is coming out in April or so, we should also promote this movie.

that's cool, but i'm talking about not wearing uniforms for sure but also taking it to their center.

When Wolf Blitzer's situation room is full of us in sleeping bags for a week, I think the media blackout will end.

I don't want them to get the wrong idea like we do this for Iraq or anything. I'll be doing it because I get sick that they lie everyday and no one can do a thing about it but piss in the wind.
I say we do this for everything they do. They lie, cheat and steal. If they're the 4th Estate, then it's time to make them accountable.

Mmmm.. I was hoping with all the intellengent minds on this forum that we could do something to not only get Ron Paul's name in the media, but his message, too. An added bonus would be raising money for the campaign.

Moniker, Message and Money, but it would have to be honest (yet sneaky), reportable (yet non-violent), and really, really WANT the stations to get it on the air. Would love to see them fighting over who was gonna put this on first. Gotta think this over for a bit.

I do like the idea, especially where you said "the cops can't shoot us all", but for all of the GEEKS the MSM thinks his supporters are made of, there must be something we haven't given enough thought to in order to help this cause.

Great Idea RP has mentioned peaceful civil disobeidence.

Reason: Elections Without Representation.

We need to have our representatives on stand-by to provide examples supporting our claims. This shouldn't be hard, but needs to be someone with PR experience and professional would be great. Also needs to have a historical aspect showing trends throughout the past up to present.
We don't need more whacky/kook references to be made. I wouldn't want it to take on "the victim" role by placing emphasis that it is an in justice and we are bringing to light this in justice which ultimately harms our entire political process. Thus we need to show that this can affect any candidate at some time not just RP in the here and now. We can show that this is bigger than RP and that we are fighting for America and every American!

Can we somehow buy the media?

Is it possible every RP supporter (supposedly the number is 500,000) can purchase a few shares of News Corp to take the spot as a majority share holder? The majority share holder must be Rupert Murdoch but I'm not sure, there must be somebody on this forum that knows something about stock and News Corp (which by the way, owns all of FOX and lots of other stuff). In the end, if it is possible to purchase majority stocks, we can just give it to Ron Paul to do as he damn please in News Corp.

Sadly, we are not the majority of the country and small enough that they wont care if we all just stopped watching them. If we all were standing outside their building however, thats different.

And with the possiblity of a "big event" involving Iran soon (5 cables cut in 3 days connecting the internet to the middle east and asia, iraq and israel un affected) our time for action has almost passed.
