haha I just saw on cnn how romney thought he had WV locked up and got a call saying huckabee won. They reported that McJackass supporters ganged up to stop Mitt from winning which is hilarious because we all no what really happened!!

Yeah, basically Romney secured the most votes in the first round (which means if it was a straight vote or primary-style election he would have won)....

then we set up a deal with Huckabee on the grounds that we get a commission for our work.

Huckabee 15
Paul 3
Romney 0
McCain 0

I bet Romney's thrilled... side note: Even though this worked out well for us, caucuses are retarded. Case in point.

I'm serious, how did we get 3 if its winner take all?

After having the lowest vote, the RP gang had to pick another candidate to support. At that point, I'm sure a deal was made that RP people would support Hucks people for 3 delegates.

Glad to see that the delegates are official. If Ron can keep making deals and picking off (McCain, most importantly) competition, he may well have a big enough bag of delegates to make quite an impact.

I totally disagree. The point of a caucus is to come out with the best candidates for the party. Candidates that reflect the party ideology, it is not supposed to be a beauty pagent like they had in Florida.

Also look at where RP has done well: In Caucuses, not in primaries. If all of the states voted like WV (how they vote not the results), then RP would be a front runner, so would Huckabee and we would have sane, conservative choices.

You must understand politics is a game. Government is serious business but politics is nothing more than a competition like any sporting event. Looks like Paul managed a second place finish in WV, Nevada, Maine and probably won LA once the dust has settled.

Ron Paul Secures Three Delegates in West Virginia State Convention

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 5, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – In today’s West Virginia Republican State Convention, Republican candidate Ron Paul’s campaign secured three of the 18 national delegates up for grabs.

“Our goal is to secure as many delegates to the national GOP convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul as possible,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign manager Lew Moore. “Securing three delegates in West Virginia is an important step in that direction. We plan on locking up more delegates before the day ends.”

In an agreement first reported by West Virginia television station WSAZ, the three Ron Paul delegates were secured through an agreement with the Mike Huckabee campaign.

Ron Paul delegates to the state convention swung their support to Huckabee – putting Huckabee over the top – after Congressman Paul was eliminated in the first round of voting. With three national delegates, Ron Paul secured 17 percent of the 18 delegates that were decided at the State Convention.

Patch, you obviously don't understand what happened.

Voting for Ron Paul and then quiting after he was removed from contention = 0 delegates.

Voting for Huckabee after the 1st round = 3 delegates.

So, in actually, these patriots voted to get Ron Paul 3 delegates.

How hard is that to understand? It was done by proxy, yes, but we ended up with a small win.

what about to get in office the most anti-neocon candidate? ron paul right now at least for me is the leader of this fight. so we need to just play the game. just chill when we win by 3, you will be happy. ;)

You understand that Ron Paul was already eliminated in the first round of voting, don't you? There were two choices:

1) Quit and Romney wins with 18 delegates.
2) Deal with Huckabee such that Huckabee gets 15 and Paul gets 3.
