I thought to just make a post here because I'm sure there are people that already know. I have a couple of friends over in Minnesota that are going to the caucus, and I'm wondering if there is any contact information I can get for the official HQ over there so I can find out which delegates they need to vote for in their precint. When my mom was going to vote in Iowa (she couldn't get out of work so she couldn't ) I got through and they gave me the phone number of a precint leader for her to contact that could help them out...
I just want to make sure that they can play the best role in the process. If there isn't any delegates for Ron Paul there in the precint, do they nominate themselves right then?
Any information about the process that will happen in Minnesota is appreciated, but the HQ contact information I really need. Thanks in advance. :)

They are no doubt very busy right now though, so call as many times as it takes. Also, RP suppoters were told last night to wear buttons to show their support. So they could ask any RP supporter they see at their caucus location, I'm sure they can point them in the correct direction. They can also self-nominate, and may even have forms to do that. Else when nominations start, they can stand and nominate themselves.
If asked who they support, they can say Ron paul. Then other supporters will know to vote for them. They should have RP stickers at their Caucus site for them to wear to show their support as well. If they're talking about RP, dont' get in any debates. Just mention how he is pro-life, pro family, pro gun, pro home schooling, anti-tax, anti big voernment, anti illegalimmigration, strong national defense, and against the government taking people's land. (Eminent domain) Could also mention that the National Taxpayers Union has shown he is the only candidate running who's planned budget shows a reduction in spending. And he was endorsed by The American Conservative magazine.

I sure hope they are not wearing badges of sorts or professing RP. They needed to plan this out prior & know who was on their slate!
This is a caucus state. It's about acquiring delegates & this needs to be done incognito.

please don't spread misinformation. it works differently in every state, and last night the MN coordinator told everyone to identify themselves.

Decision was made in MN to do the caucusing in the open as prior states had issues where RP supporters who had not notified the campaign they were supporters showed up and either did not see any other RP people and left, or did not know who to vote for for delegates as they had not received the list/slate ahead of time and ended up not voting or voting for the wrong people.
Also there are not any where near enough precinct captains to have this stuff organized ahead of time and have slates prepared, etc. (In our Senate district we have 9 precincts with precinct leaders, and 15 without) I wouldn't even know how many delegates my precinct was supposed to pass on except that Marianne told me over the phone, other precinct captains or supporters in precincts without captains will just have to ask their precinct convener tonight I guess.
And again issues with the database (somehow I doubt it was an actual DB, prolly excel spreadsheet or something) prevented the lists of supporters in each precinct from going out to that same group of supporters in that precinct until sat/sun/mon, I'd guess even some not until today even. Mine had 4 people on it (plus 2 extras I'm bringing who are not on the list, no idea who else might show), so lets cross our fingers for no one showing up and a lot of closet RP fans. *shrugs* Another unknown factor I guess would be those casual people who heard an advert on the radio or TV (don't watch much local TV, so no idea frequency of TV spots, but I know the radio was pretty saturated) and decided to vote for RP, yet wouldn't ever go to the step of signing on as a supporter on the website, or perhaps even bothering to look up his positions on the web - I mean thats how lots of other supporters who support other candidates do it ... *outrageous*
On the good news front, the GOTV phone calls apparently went well, I heard as of perhaps as early as Sunday that 75% of them were done, I also go a robo call not from the campaign, a recorded Dr. Paul call to caucus, and a big color post card, so at least the supporters the campaign knows about should be well aware of the date and time and location and will be entirely their fault if they don't make it there.
I think realistically Paul would be doing super well to take 2nd in terms of delegates after McCain, wouldn't be entirely shocked with 3rd after McCain and Romney - I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I mostly plan to be disillusioned with the campaign for a good few days after Super Tuesday ...

This is from the MN state coordinator. Identify yourself as an RP supporter so other RP people can find you
-----------
t's getting exciting in Minnesota!
Supporters across the state are making phone calls to get out the vote, Ron Paul is becoming a hot topic on talk radio, and we are expecting over 2,000 supporters at the rally in Minneapolis tomorrow.
We can win here in Minnesota, but only if you bring your friends and family and attend your caucus this Tuesday, February 5th @ 7pm. We recommend you get there 30 minutes early.
If you do not know where you caucus is located please visit the Minnesota GOP's website: http://www.mngop.com/pf/
Or call us at 612.886.1990
Every caucus location will run a little bit different. Here is the typical schedule:
1. Formalities (Pledge of Allegiance, elect a chairperson, recruit election judges, etc.)
2. Discussion of candidates and Presidential Straw Poll
3. Nominations and election of Precinct Officers
4. Nominations and election of Delegate and Alternates
5. Discussion of resolutions and issues.
**For Ron Paul supporters, it is most important that we elect as many Delegates and Alternates as we can**
If you are having trouble getting your friends and family in your precinct to vote for Ron Paul, then encourage them to attend and vote for you for delegate as a personal favor.
Bring with you the list of fellow supporters in your precinct that you should have received by email, but be prepared to vote for other supporters who may not be on your list. (If there are supporters who have not arrived by 6:45, call them.) Pay attention to the rules in the event you need to vote for more delegates than what you have on your list.
If you need to vote for additional people, determine which delegate candidates are at least undecided and agree with Ron Paul's ideals. If you have more supporters than delegate spots, agree ahead of time which supporters you will vote for as delegate. We can't afford to split our votes.
Sign up on the "self-nomination" form if it is available, and have other supporters do the same.
Because there are supporters who have not signed up with the campaign, we are now encouraging everyone to wear a button or put on a lapel sticker at the caucus so you may identify each other. (Lapel stickers will be included in the caucus packets that should be picked up at the rally tonight.)
Feel free to uproot your lawn sign temporarily to plant outside the caucus if you can arrive by 6:30. If you have extra official literature around (not the independent version), bring it with you in case our planned literature does not make it there. Leave the literature for the undecideds. There likely won't be enough for us supporters.
Do dress conservatively - no tshirts - and behave in a professional manner, respectful of everyone including the convener. It is too late at this time to educate attending Republicans on the Federal Reserve or the follies of the war. Promote Ron Paul as the pro-life, pro-gun, pro-home-schooling, anti-tax, anti-big-government, anti-illegal-immigration candidate. At this point, you just want their vote. Arguing will not accomplish that.
A caucus speech and convener letter will also be included in the caucus packet. Ask for permission to read the short speech as soon as you arrive. If they won't allow this, give the convener the letter to be read.
Be sure there is at least one Ron Paul supporter designated to watch the ballots being counted. Please report your straw poll and delegate results to the campaign by emailing Minnesota@ronpaul2008.com.
Stay to the very end and be sure the caucus properly adjourns (make the motion to adjourn yourself, if no one else does). Although not likely, it is possible that parliamentary procedures at the end could wipe out all your hard work.
We won't win every precinct, nor do we need to. Each delegate we do win is very valuable, so remember that this is your goal. Again, find two or more people in your precinct you can convince to come and vote for YOU.
