View Full Version : To all those complaining about Paul wasting our money....

I just want to remind you all that every penny he spent was a sound investment. So why didn't it pay off like we all hoped? There are several reasons.....

1) We are fighting an insurgency within the GOP. We're not towing party line, we're the outsiders. It will obviously take much more resources to fight an uphill battle such as this and IMO Ron Paul has done a tremendous job.

2) We are also fighting against millions of hours of propoganda that has brainwashed the masses via the MSM. Do you think even $1 Billion in advertising will change people's understanding of how their government has deceived and manipulated them all these years?

3) Ron Paul is a principled man. He doesn't have a media bus or plane and shuttle around everyone, wine and dine. He puts out his message and that's it. He didn't lavish anyone or "grease the wheel" of the media in any way. Some will say this was a flaw but I say so be it, I'm tired of business as usual and politicians who will say or do anything to get elected.

But there is good news in everything we've accomplished:

1) First of all we've opened up thousands, hundreds of thousands of people's eyes to our rights as Americans to live our lives as the founders intended us to live and to that of basic libertian philosophy. This will set back the socialist movement dramatically. Even Glen Beck calls himself a libertarian now.

2) We've put out an incredibly strong message, and don't think for a second the GOP hasn't noticed. There will be smoother talking, younger and more energetic candidates for congress, senate and even the presidency just waiting to grab onto Paul's message. They know the young people pay attention, that it energizes all bases in the republican party and independants and even democrats, and it brings in the dollars like mad. Even if they don't have 10% of the moral character and record Paul has it's a move in the right direction and a welcome shift to the GOP.

3) We've brought forth the discussion of sound money once again in a presidential debate, something that hasn't happened since the 70's, and we've made millions of poeple aware of our crumbling currency. Even McLame is talking about the US printing money out of thin air now. Huckaboo talks about abolishing the IRS. This is real progress. While the economy continues to sour and the dollar continues to fall everyone will remember what Paul said and the discussion will last and continue.

So don't get down everyone. Our $30M or whatever it was that we donated was an incredible investment when you really think about it. And I want you all to know that no matter what happens, we have changed this country for the better and hopefully we all stay together to keep this movement going.

And we will continue to change it. I don't know about you but I'm in this for the long haul. This movement is about liberty and truth, and these are ideals that we must invest our entire lives into, not just one or two elections cycles.

Amyone who gave money because they thought it would be EASY to take on the ENTIRE establishment is a fool.

Dr. Paul has put EVERYTHING on the line, including his LIFE.

If you don't understand that -- STFU.

Very well put. The campaign knows what they are doing. Leave it be and do your part. Go out and talk to people instead of bitching here.

Thanks for your post.

Here was my final reply to the poor individual who was complaining about the money the campaign has spent. He remarked that he bought a sign and gave some money, and that it was wasted. Here is my final retort before the thread got moved to Hot Topics:

OOOOOO, WOW. You got a sign and gave some money....be still my heart. So that makes you know all about campaigning and grassroots efforts. I'm damn near maxed out on donations, and I don't care if he loses. My money went to an effort far larger than ME, far larger than YOU. This not about ME, and its not about YOU. Its about OUR NATION. Get that through your head.

The founders pledged their LIVES, their FORTUNES, and their SACRED HONOR to fight for freedom - and they did that when perhaps only 2 or 3 percent of the citizens supported independence from England. They did that when the prospect of winning was small. They did that in the face of the most powerful army and navy in the world. And guess what (since you seem to have forgotten), THEY WON.

Great post but.... super tuesday is not yet here!

remember, super tuesday is not the end, it's only the beginning. Both ideologically and logistically.

There are still half the states after super tuesday to go, and traditionally there's a backlash against the frontrunner if a clear one emerges.

It's called the, "Oh, no! What have we done?!" effect.

These guys individually pay thousands in taxes - and then government goes and spend billions in War and loses lives!! Instead of feeling good that Ron Paul is ready to fight and change the system, they complain here!

And to all people, who think/scheme for winning alone, well, remember that the very reason Ron Paul has the following that he has is because he followed his unadulterated ways for so long in his life - If you like it, then help him, otherwise go and follow any other politician!

Dr. Paul has put EVERYTHING on the line, including his LIFE.

Don't ever doubt it.

JFK, Bobby Kennedy, MLK, Gandhi, Reagan, etc.

This sort of message has only been received with a bullet in the end. That's U.S. politics... we just won't admit it.

He really is taking a big risk...especially for his family. All of you conspiracy-minded folks should certainly agree.

I will continue to donate. To Ron Paul's presidential campaign, to his Congressional campaign, and to other Ron Paul Republicans running for office.

The people that wasted their money, are all those who donated to a candidate they don't really believe in, or didn't represent the best interests of Americans.

Look at what came of all of this already and will continue regardless of tomorrow. Cheap investment really.

Agreed. I do not have the money I've been donating - it's coming out of my credit card. I'm going to be likely selling one of my cars to get back on track.

I'm WELL aware that he may not win, but that hasn't stopped me from donating a fairly healthy amount on Feb 1st.

This isn't some "Product" we're buying. We're fighting for what's right. It's called sacrifice - and with what's at stake, it isn't a big one.

Be happy that today it's only $$$ and time being asked of us, rather than blood.

This is what I have been saying. What we have accomplished will not be erased. This is a movement...RP is the current torchbearer....but it will go on beyond this presidential race. We have awakened many and will continue to awaken many more. Our work is far from finished! The battle has just begun!!!
