I was just informed yesterday that when women were fighting for the right to vote they died in droves for the cause in hunger strikes and such.
Yet today it is just fine for electronic machines to rob us of the integrity of the vote count.
When did we become such wimps? such sheep? so gorged and lethargic that we could no longer take action as we were led to slaughter?

Here is an article which brings up many valuable points in that regard

Where did you get this information about women dying in droves? If you want to know about the history of women's rights in America, start with Wyoming. . . http://museumoftheamericanwest.org/explore/exhibits/suffrage/suffrage_wy.html

A good question and a good article. Our Founders were indeed very brave. They risked everything to revolt against England and fight for their rights. They were not afraid to challenge authority, as you can see here:

The Right of Revolution (http://www.strike-the-root.com/51/hargis/hargis1.html)

I honestly think a lot of complacency comes from technology and a new level of "bread and circuses." Technology - electricity, central heat & air, automobiles, television, etc. allow people to live more comfortably than ever before. Add to that the dumbed-down ignorance installed by government schools, and you have a recipe for apathy and submission.

There were never women dying in droves due to hunger strikes in attempting to gain the right to vote.

Enough already.

We have been brought up in a society of instant gratification. Credit cards provide all the wants, equity loans provide even more. Children are showered with everything CCs can buy. And it's very sad to say, not much love or being instructed on priciples. No one knows what it's like to work and save for wants. When I was young my dad used to say, "when you leave a room, turn offf the light." When I got married in '64 we had a car payment and bought some furniture on payments. After that we saved and bought with cash. My "want list" all my life has been very short. I didn't have to have all the latest gadgets. I guess I'm weird!!! The point is, not many have had to fight for anything as far as material things are concerned. Society has bred nothing but selfishness and greed so there's not much care for anything other than how to satisfy "self". This has resulted in lack of care for almost anything else - apathy. Most people don't want to know about anything that will upset their little world, and most people are too busy trying to satisfy "self" to take time to look at anything else. How can a society like this fight for anything, when they refuse to see anything to fight for?????
