Yes, Civic Center is where all the action takes place. You can early register tonight (Mon., Feb. 4) between 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Civic Center. Otherwise, plan on getting there very early--5:30 am - 6:00 am--Tues. morning to register. The event starts at 9:00 am.

If I early register tonight does that gurantee me a spot on the floor when Dr. Paul speaks?

when you signed up to be a delegate you could either choose a candidate or list yourself as uncommitted. I'm guessing that's where those numbers are coming from.

I read on the delegate certification paper that I was sent the following:

"The Convention will convene at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, February 5 in the South Hall of the Charleston Civic Center. You should be in your seat at that time. Registration will open at 7:00 AM that day. You will need this letter and a picture ID to obtain your delegate credentials. Please allow sufficient time for registration as late registration may delay your entrance to the Convention hall. Early registration will be available from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday evening Early registrants will then use an express lane for entrance to the hall on Tuesday.

Hope this clears things up. It is from an official letter sent to all delegates.

Does anyone actually have delegates yet?

I am not a delegate, but would very much like to hear Dr. Paul speak. Do you have to be a delegate in order to get in?

All the delegates going to the Convention are actual certified delegates. Some registered as supporting a particular candidate--most are uncommited--but they are all delegates none-the-less and can cast one vote for whoever they want.

Our hope is to sway the uncommited and Thompson, Hunter, Gouliani, and others to vote for Ron Paul. Since Dr. Paul will be the only actual candidate giving a speech--last I heard--it hopefully will be good enough to persuade enough non-Paul delegates.

I believe that Mitt Romney will be there also. There are spots for some "visitors" but only 200 so you have to get there real early if you want a spot. Delegates are certified to the state convention only, not the national convention.

So does the actual vote on Tuesday matter? are the delegates already selected?
